Back in the day, they were the exceptions.
I don't necessarily mind, but I can see why it would bother some people.
That being said, I don't blame the Tekken making more their newcomers being more outlandish. Bruce was also my example I would use when it comes to a generic character. Which is why I do like Fahkuram better, but I'm not Tekken fan so what would I know?
Cross posted from the General Street Fighter thread:
I'll still award the idea: Tekken and Street Fighter crossing over was a cool idea. That the people behind it made a lot of dumb decisions doesn't take away from that good idea.
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think we'll be getting Tekken X Street Fighter at all, at this rate.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowWell, it's been ten years so...
One Strip! One Strip!Cross-posting from the Tekken 7 thread:
I keep forgetting that we have a General Tekken thread.
Also, Kunimitsu's back, or at least her daughter's in.
So is Tekken 7 supposed to have really bad load times?
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you know
Yup. Senselessly so. The game performs a full reload of everything when you rematch in online, despite using the same characters and the same stage. It's like a masterwork of bad design.
the color todayYyyep. I'm on PS 4 Pro and it kinda feels like a step down from Tag 2. That game loaded nice and quick.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowGET READY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE.
Suddenly a Netflix animated series! And no, it's not being advertised as an anime!
Tekken: Bloodline is coming in 2022 to Netflix!
EDIT: I mean, the Netflix Anime page has its slight variation of it, but it's still called "A Netflix Series", not "A Netflix Anime".

2 years passed by oof
Mileena MadnessOh wow.
We'll actually get to see Jun's fight with Ogre.
And I saw Leroy there. This may not be just Tekken 3.
It'll be interesting to see their interpretation, though it's odd they say it's not anime, since it's clearly got the influence.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, I was gonna drop it on the Tekken 7 thread, but then I was led to this thread, so yeah.
Right? I'm not even a huge Tekken fan, but this still looks like it'll kick ass. Heck, I didn't even know this was happening until today. (If this works out, maybe we can see other Bandai Namco adaptations? Like Klonoa?)
In any case, as I already pointed out after the fact, the teaser doesn't call it an anime (which I realize is a lot like what they did with the Castlevania series), but Netflix's Twitter for anime does have its own (slight) variation of the teaser. And it shares the first poster! Strangely enough, half of the tweets are in Spanish.
Is Tekken particularly popular in Spanish-speaking countries? Or am I thinking of The King of Fighters?

Tekken always had a global appeal. It's one of the reasons why it's one of the most successful fighting games out there.
Wow, this came out of nowhere! I wonder if they're going to retcon some of the original story? It never really made any sense that Jun would trust her son's well-being to Heihachi of all people. Especially since we know she has another relative. Although, I don't know when they really came up with Asuka?
Netflix has been knocking it out of the park with their game adaptations. I think this will be good too.
And I saw Leroy there. This may not be just Tekken 3.
With Leroy's age, it makes sense for him to have an Adaptational Early Appearance for this one.

Which is fine all things considered.
The only exception I can think of is whenever Capcom is involved.
Technically you could have a bunch of characters appear in bloodlines as cameo since Jin not only trains with Grandpa the Terrible he attends the international academy.. so expect atleast met cute wittle Jin and Xiaoyu
Jeezus They made Normal Orge FUCKING HUGE
He is like Fate Berserker Huge
I wonder will we see the Tragic end of the original King?
____
Harada clarified that Jun and Asuka are from the same Clan but aren't close relatives
basically Jin and Asuka are so many steps apart from their common ancestor that they Don't qualify as Kissing Cousins if you want to ship them.

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I've vaguely recalled hearing that.
That would at the very least explain why Jun didn't have her other relatives to raise Jin. However, that still doesn't explain why she would trust Heihachi to do so.
... I mean Jun having a naive idea of whether a person can change or not is kinda in her character.
or are we just conveniently forgetting the key aspect of Her letting Kazuya knock her up of all things
Jun's ability to judge people is already suspect.
I mean the sad thing is up till Heihachi lets his paranoia get the better of him. Him and Jin are Rather close so really Jun's gut was correct ... Heihachi just screwed it up cause He could not fathom Jin Not plotting to usurp him even when the boy clearly showed no interest in it
Heihachi's got to make his own worst enemies afterall

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! There are a lot of things we don't actually know about Jun Kazama at the end of the day.
Chief among them, what's her actual relationship with Kazuya?
Sexual. Oh, you mean, besides that.
I know the Tekken dev team developed Pokken, but since I never played Pokken, I didn't know they put in so many references!
Considering I explained the differences between types of sentons and splashes in the Pokemon thread not too long ago, it disproportionately bugs me that the first video here mixed up a couple moves.
The sad, REAL American dichotomySure it was sexual, but the fact that Jun was willing to do that with someone who's arguably the evilest character in the cast is very strange to me.
I forgot how many Tekken animation were recycled for Pokken. I didn't even realize there were that many. I absolutely love it, especially how Pikachu has his own EWGF. That's so cool.
When will they buff eddy, lars and lucky chloe? These guys are in so much sorry state, even bears has better kits then these... sub-optimal characters.
Does that mean I don't get the job?
Can you really say the game that had a fighting bear was ever "grounded"?
