Well, I'm fat, so I can barely touch my toes. Being able to look between her legs from a standing position is crazy. And hot.

It's been fun.

180 cm is considered huge? That's pretty normal where I'm from, so I can only assume it's "higher then average" in Japan.

[up] Oh yes 180 is huge. The two Huge Schoolgirls in Negima [1] are 181 and 184 cm and they tower over most of the class. Also when Sakaki in Azumanga broke 170 everyone was shocked.

Statuesque Stunner's requirement is 172 cm aka 5'8 .

Looking at that screenshot, they have really short doorways in that house.

I am pretty sure that doorways in Japan are quite a bit shorter than the US probably by like 6 inches or so.

Jumbo in Yotsuba is 210 centimeters (6 ft 11 in) and he has to really duck to get inside doors.

199 is crazy tall for woman, it's very tall for a man.

180 for a woman is "tall" but not freakishly so.

Yeah. In Japan, 180 is considered impressive for men, let alone women, let alone a sixteen-year-old girl.

It's been fun.

[up][up]

Average Heights around the world

Average for Japanese men: 1.715m

Average for Japanese women: 1.580m

So yeah, a 1.80m 16 year old girl is pretty damn tall in Japan.

Well, that explains something I saw once on the streets of amsterdam: a Japanese couple making a picture while posing next to a 1.90 (estimated) Dutch woman.

It was hilarious, especially combined with the woman's "Eehhhmm, sure" face.

Episode 7

Well, in case you were curious as to how things break down in terms of romance points.

Ryuushi: +100

Erio: 0

Maekawa: Doesn't give a shit

Also plastic bottle rockets FTW!

For someone mentioned in the title, Erio sure isn't doing much

She's making Makato's life more awkward. The whole "taking her side against the city" thing with Ryuushi is a pretty major secondary effect of her existence.

And boom went the cuteness meter. Good show, good show.

I can't believe it took this long for noticeable QUALITY to show up from my view consider what studio is doing this.

Also I wonder why Maekawa doesn't have enough blood.

[up] I vaguely remember Maekawa saying she had poor blood circulation before this episode, I just don't remember where.

I think it was when she lifted her arms for about half a minute and nearly fainted from it.

Yeah, Maekawa has pretty bad circulation.

Man, interesting episode this time around. Things keep getting more and more involved... and I imagine Maekawa made out like a bandit for bringing 02 four bottle rockets. 20,000 yen is nothing to sneeze at for 500 yen of supplies and an hour's work.

It's been fun.

Unless there was a lot of ad companies fighting for commercial space, and that money went straight to SHAFT, I can't imagine them having the finances to improve the animation quality so quickly.

I am slightly disappointed that Ryuushi isn't actually a vegetarian.

The first volume release of Madoka broke first day DVD/BD sales records, ie: many of them were pre-ordered. Thus, they had a predictable influx of income and could afford to go into the red a bit before the actual DVD release. And of course those sales records were originally set by SHAFT's own Bakemonogatari. The fact is that they're a wealthier studio than they used to be.

And SHAFT has a well established history of saving it's budget for series it actually cares about. Maria Holic looks much worse
