Pocahontas 2 was pretty much "DON'T TRUST WHITEY: THE MOVIE" while the original was a bit more nuanced.

I liked Lion King 1 1/2, for what it was.

[up]The original wasn't too subtle either. Remember "They're not like you and me, that means they're evil"

[up]The settlers in the original struck me as more ignorant and afraid than genuinely evil, aside from Ratcliffe. The sequel has Pocahontas screaming "YOUR PEOPLE ARE THE SAVAGES" at the king of England.

Best:

  • Return of Jafar
  • The Little Mermaid 2 (which actually had some good songs)

Worst:

  • The Lion King 1 1/2 (Just a bad idea)

The Little Mermaid II was pretty horrible. The villain was terrible, the plot was terrible, the songs... cripes, the SONGS. The original movie had amazing songs with hilarious, witty lyrics. Mermaid II has lyrics like, "Look at me, flipping this flipper,/ it's like putting my foot into one giant slipper!" Barf. And that "Titanic Tip and Daring Dash" song haunts me to this day.

Belle's Enchanted Christmas was pretty bad, but I also admit I like the gay organ played by Tim Curry. It's just... how can you not like a gay organ villain played by Tim Curry? I like all Tim Curry's villainous organs. ... that came out wrong.

Brother Bear II was lackluster, but it has one of my favourite lines in all Disney DTV canon. New second-movie Love Interest Nita is told she has to find Kenai to break a childhood marriage vow they made as kids. Nita's reply is, "Kenai? ... but he's a bear!"

asdfghjkl;;lkjhgfdsasdfghjkl; Gold.

Pocahontes II was bad. Just... bad.

I don't remember much of it, I think An Extremely Goofy Movie was pretty good. Ariel's Beginning was lackluster, but on the "okay" side of lackluster. it could have been good with a bit more thought and effort. The Aladdin movies and Lion King II are pretty good, if far below the quality of the originals.

[up] [up] Many women (and men) love Tim Curry's villainous organs.

The Little Mermaid 2 had a ballin' pinball game tie-in on the Game Boy, though.

@Truteal: Man, I'm sorry, but I don't really care enough to watch a 50 minute video to get your point. Can you sum it up, please?

It's a bunch of liberals complaining about Disney.

For example, they say that Pocahontas downplays the awful things the Europeans did to the indigenous Americans.

I find it goes both ways. While the media heavily down plays the Atrocities of the Europeans, they also hold up Native Americans as infallible paragons of virtue (while also often down playing their technological capabilities, when is the last time Pueblo builders were portrayed in the media).

One word to you: a gay organ played by Tim Curry. I think it should be enough.

I think I remember something about a Pipe Organ, but why is it gay? And its evil of course, because its a pipe organ, and played by Tim Curry.

Well, the organ is obsessed with the prince and tried to drive Bell away so that he is the prince's only source of comfort. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There is a lot of gay undertone in that movie.

Though I have to admit that whatever he played, Tim Curry is awesome.

Yes, there was.

Admittedly, it has nothing to do with the Disney version, but who cares?

(Mega bump tiem?)

I recently saw the second Aladdin movie. It wasn't that bad...except for the songs.

There was a Beauty and the Beast TV Series?
I know there was a show where Belle would sing stories to children over clips of old Disney cartoon shorts. Yeah...

If you think about it, half of the DTV sequels aren't half bad.

[up]This is a good point. It's just the bad ones are really bad and the good ones still aren't as good as the originals.

The only one of the, generally agreed, bad ones I remember is the Beauty and the Beast one and that's only because of the organ. Something about it fascinated me as a kid.
