I feel like qualifying Chai as a memetic loser.

Arakami being involved gives me a lot more confidence in the CG than I would have otherwise.

PS - I'm about to read the Tow Ubukata short story novel and I heard from someone that it expands on some background with Kuze.

Considering that the episodes for each season is 12 (unless by some miracle that they get additional ones), I'm not sure if they can devote time for a stand alone episode or two.

Given how China is depicted, as stated here, is there any Ghost in the Shell media that is allowed to be sold in China or not?

I never looked for specific media when I was there a few years ago, but remember seeing a couple college students with Ghost in the Shell shirts. You can find pretty much anything if you know a couple decent bootleg shops on the streets, wether they were on ban lists or not (Death Note, Attack on Titan, etc), and students would openly encourage torrenting. I’ve not seen Git S pop up on reported ban or censorship lists, but either way it has some following there.

The April 23 release date should give me time to finish my re-watch of both seasons of SAC and Solid State Society.

I feel like new character Purin Ezaki, who's a technician for the Tachikomas, could be a Tachikoma that managed to gain a human body. In one of the descriptions of her, she managed to get transferred to MIT at the age of 15, and is said to have a "special interest" in Batou. I don't know, but I think there is quite a bit more to her than it seems. The Tachikomas have a consistent arc of wanting to be human and achieving higher levels of sentience, so I don't think it's too far out to say that one of them would eventually get their hands on an artificial body.
