This thread is to request that a locked article be unlocked. Please read the guidelines below before making a request.
- Please see Locked Pages and Permanent Redlink Club first. If an article is on the Permanent Redlink Club, it will not be unlocked, ever.
- Pages cut a while ago were automatically locked. Before asking for an unlock, make sure that the article you want to create is in the proper Namespace, has gone through YKTTW if it's a trope, and otherwise fulfills our guidelines for Creating New Pages.
- If you just want to make an edit to an article, post here
instead.
- Don't ask for new Main redirects. Those are only for old articles with lots of existing inbounds.
Original post
I'll start it off: could someone please unlock Hootie And The Blowfish so I can make a new page on it? The last page was cut for being copypasta from Wikipedia.

The vandal has been here yesterday. And a few days ago. And the whole past month.
That said, given that they now are hitting pages indiscriminately, I would support an unlocking under the consideration that the lock now doesn't help anything.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanTV Tropes Writing Contest ought to be restored and unlocked. It was cutlisted because the creator wasn't aware that it was in the right namespace. For the record, it seems to me that there is no more appropriate namespace for that sort of thing - it's troping the contest, not the submitted material apparently.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYeah, I noticed the original page was getting clunky and still in the main namespace but when moving it the closest thing I could compare it to was Na No Wri Mo, which was in Useful Notes. I didn't think that fit here so Web Original was the next best thing, but then I misread the indexes and ended up cutlisting it as a result. My apologies for the trouble.
I was in the middle of editing Mean Time to Breakdown when it was cut and locked. It was a new page, so I was putting off my edits until (apparently) the last minute.

@Septimus: Isn't it a tad self-referential for us to have an article on our own writing contest?
@The Blank Mage: Please don't make stub articles. They get cut very quickly. Draft your work offline or in the Wiki Sandbox and post fully-formatted articles with enough examples to avoid the Cut List. I'll unlock it.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Perhaps, but if we can't document our own contest on our own site then where can we? It's not that different than a page dedicated to one of our on-site roleplaying games, except once a game is over it's over, the contests are regular events that can be expanded upon.
Referencing is actually part of the idea. It is a lot easier to read up on the history of the contest while it's on one page with a few paragraphs and a nifty trope list rather than a dozen forum threads that will eventually be cleaned out of the system. I know it's hardly up there with The Great Crash page in terms of important history but it's still a nice little part of our site and it'd be a shame to lose it.
Okay. I unlocked it.
And restored the last version from history. You'll have to do all the crosswicking and indexing and stuff.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm guessing it was cut for being empty? We should try to stop doing that. Anyway, I unlocked it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Nope. Too controversial. Suggest edits you'd like to make in the Edit Requests thread.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The anime series Space☆Dandy is going to start airing on Toonami this Saturday. I'd like to get started on setting up the work page, but it is currently locked. Can that be unlocked, please?
I suppose it was cut for being a stub? I unlocked it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Can Catch-22 be unlocked? It was deleted before I could add more trope examples. As for three starting tropes, there's the two that were on the page previously plus the Catch-22 Dilemma no-brainer :)
I'll unlock it, but it needs more than a stub. If you need to draft an article before writing it, use the Wiki Sandbox or do it offline.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"A very temporary opening of the YMMV page for Jesu Otaku, for the purposes of removing some remaining slander that was posited there by a stalker she used to have.
Actually, if one of you admin-folk could just take out her Creator's Pet entry and maybe some of the more attack-y bits of the "she panned it, now she sucks" entry, that'd be great.

Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about. You might want this
thread, comrade. Moderators can edit locked pages.
I would like to have Main.Hostile Takeover unlocked and the disambiguation page Literature.Hostile Takeover transplanted into it.
Trust me, I'm an engineer!

After all this time, why is Rip Haywire still locked? Can we unlock it now? Or have things not quieted down sufficiently yet?
