Requests to Unlock Locked Pages

Go To

This thread is to request that a locked article be unlocked. Please read the guidelines below before making a request.

  1. Please see Locked Pages and Permanent Redlink Club first. If an article is on the Permanent Redlink Club, it will not be unlocked, ever.
  2. Pages cut a while ago were automatically locked. Before asking for an unlock, make sure that the article you want to create is in the proper Namespace, has gone through YKTTW if it's a trope, and otherwise fulfills our guidelines for Creating New Pages.
  3. If you just want to make an edit to an article, post here instead.
  4. Don't ask for new Main redirects. Those are only for old articles with lots of existing inbounds.

Original post

I'll start it off: could someone please unlock Hootie And The Blowfish so I can make a new page on it? The last page was cut for being copypasta from Wikipedia.

Moderators have access to the sources of cut pages. That was what I was referring to.

A mod can give you the text of the page as it was before it was deleted. You can copy and paste this into Sandbox.Harry Potter Fan Works, or something like that, so that you can finish adding examples and whatever else is needed. When the page is ready, you can ask for FanWorks.Harry Potter to be unlocked so that you can move the page there.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

[up] The pages themselves wouldn't have been FanWorks.Harry Potter; that would have been where they were indexed. But otherwise, that advice is sound; just use Sandbox/[NameOfWork] instead of what Tel suggested, and ask for the individual pages to be unlocked.

Ok. I'll do that. It turned out I could recover some of the posts from my computer, so... :)

ETA: Sirius Black And The Secret Keeper Fanfilm, The Marauders Worst Memory AND The Potter Prophecy are all trope-filled :)

I had a page unpublished troper work called Battle of the Network-tans and accompanying character page that was not only erased but also locked. At first it was moved to the Darth Wiki but then when I came to look it up so I can actually seri writees bible and outline for it, I found it gone. This wouldn't be weird if my other unpublished work (which I haven't even renamed yet) wasn't left untouched and character page itself wasn't linked by someone at a Something Awful.

If I can't have it unlocked and/or resurrected to a sandbox, I can I at least have the source files for the chracter sheet? I had some characters names and tropes that I hadn't backed up yet.

The pages are:

The only article with history available is Characters.Battle Of The Network Tans. That can be recovered, but unpublished works do not get Characters subpages or any other subpages for that matter. They exclusively go in Darth Wiki.

DarthWiki.Battle Of The Network Tans is not locked; feel free to recreate your article in the proper place.

Never mind of the source files, I managed to find a copy of them on Archive.org. I'll just stick them on the Darthwiki for safe keeping for now. When I do finally publish, will the character section be unlocked?

I would like the Humans Are Bastards quotes page unlocked, as I have pruned a number of quotes more befitting that trope from the Humans Are the Real Monsters quote page and wish to add them to that page.

If this is a one-time event, go to the Edit Requests thread and post them there.

Can you unlock the Ymmv code of a Princess page and Persona 5? Or at least tell us why they were locked?

Please provide actual links, not just words. I can't click on words to see what articles you're talking about.

Edit: Assuming you mean VideoGame.Persona 5 and YMMV.Code Of Princess, both articles were cut.

Persona 5 was cut because it was a stub; there was no useful information about the game. We can unlock it when it's released or when someone's willing to write up something useful.

YMMV.Code Of Princess was cut because there were no examples, I think. The actual reason fell off of the cutlist history. That's not normally a valid reason to cut an article, though; if you want to add examples to it, it can be unlocked. In fact, I just did so.

Code of Princess and VideoGame.Persona 5.

There's still not enough information on Persona 5. When we get actual previews instead of just a release date and a theme, then we can make a page.

At best, you could sandbox a work page under Sandbox.Persona 5, and if it gets enough valid examples, move it in.

I would like to edit the Mein Kampf introduction quote on the Adolf Hitler page, to wikilink "...such a man..." to From Nobody to Nightmare, which further helps explain what the commentator (and likely professor) meant when he wrote it. And I've never heard of anyone questioning Hitler being a societal nobody before he did a Captain Ahab in his hammock/hospital bed; up to and including Hitler.

EDIT: In other words, I'm not even asking for a full unlock.

Pardon, but edit requests go here unless you are asking for an unlock of Adolf Hitler.

Ginga Hyouryuu Vifam was cut because apparently Cut Masters don't always double-check to see if the cut reason was still valid or that there's discussion added.

I suspect it was missed because it was part of a large backlog. Or the number of required tropes was raised while I wasn't looking.

Looking at the page, seems like it's worthy of restoration.

Then why hasn't it been restored? I can't even look at it now.

Unlocked.

Edit: I restored from the history, but there some HTML entities that didn't render properly, and it needs indexing and all the other usual stuff.
