So, as a counterpoint to the other thread, this is where we talk about entries that we find incredibly amusing and intelligent. To start us out, I present the entirety of Real Life, which had me cracking up when I first read it.

An edit reason from The Annotated Edition was "the annotator is frequently the one doing the annotations."

Better though, is this gem from the Dungeons And Dragons page (emphasis mine):

* Invulnerable Knuckles: Said knuckles count as magic weapons for the purpose of piercing magic defenses. This also has the side-effect of letting a Monk punch ghosts.

Edit: also this.

* How do you pronounce the name that translates as the Lord of the Flies? BEEL-zuh-bub, be-EL-zeh-bub, or BELL-zee-bub?
  • be-EL-zeh-bub is probably the best, as the word derives from the word Ba'al, meaning Lord in several Semitic languages. It's pronounced with two syllables, with a glottal stop in the middle. And it's how Queen pronounced it in "Bohemian Rhapsody," and they are the highest earthly authority.

It Makes Sense in Context, but from the real life section of I Take Offense to That Last One:

A person should be able to do whatever they (and every attendant) feel comfortable with in the privacy of their own sex dungeon without being labeled a Nazi.

Ted Bundy. He raped, tortured and murdered women for several years, including girls as young as twelve. While appearing to lead an exemplary life. Yes, this sadistic Serial Killer was a member of the Crime Prevention Council, a political staffer, and a volunteer at a suicide hotline. If Ted hadn't done "those things," today he'd probably be holding elective office.

The funny comes from the fact that it is not entirely certain what is referred to with "those things". The horrible crimes, or the exemplary life? Is this just a badly written example, or is it a snarking sneer at politicians who do not lead the exemplary life their profession ought to require?evil grin

Not an entry per se, but the quote underneath the image for The Brute is so hilariously incongruous that it's possibly my favorite on the site.

I wanted to be annoyed at it, at first, because it was a needlessly silly entry, but I just could not bring myself to be.

From the Anal Cunt page:

Songs rarely lasted for more than a minute, thus, it was not uncommon for their albums to include 40-50 tracks, but with song titles such as "I Lit Your Baby On Fire," "Recycling Is Gay," "I Sent Concentration Camp Footage to America's Funniest Home Videos", and "Howard Wulkan is Bald"

This line on I Am Not A Serial Killer makes me giggle and aww at the same time. ^u^

Will They or Won't They?: Brooke clearly likes John, and John clearly likes her. Hence the stalking.

[up][up] XD

Teeth-Clenched Teamwork:

Firefly: Firefly is actually fairly mixed about this, as Jayne and Simon are often at odds with everyone else (and each other), and Inara and Shepherd are often at odds with Mal, but other than that everyone seems to get along just fine. Well except for Jayne and River. And Jayne and Inara. Or maybe it's just Jayne.

Made me laugh.

I don't know, I think that one gets kind of old almost straight away. It's fine on his character page but it seems a bit excessive on the episode recap.

I still think the pencil breaking guy was entertaining, but I'm not sure if I can post that any more since it was a Troper Tale.

I find that most of the examples on the western animation High Octane Nightmare Fuel to be pretty freakin' hilarious. Way to try too hard guys.

If you only had the examples on the TV Tropes Nightmare Fuel and High Octane Nightmare Fuel pages to go by, you would probably come to the conclusion that all Tropers piss themselves in fear whenever an ice cream truck goes by or a sudden gust of wind occurs.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.
