I mean my issue of his is his very smug attitude (the same issue I have with Busy Street) and his repeated shock humor and videos.
The man who said Copout (that Kevin Smith movie) is worse than the death of his father.
But this a topic for the main TGWTG thread.
Fray isn't a comic now? And that's just one he made - what about his run on the X Men? And he was attached to the Wonder Woman movie at one point.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!And he's currently attached to The Avengers movie. Wow there's being funny by missing something on purpose then there's blatantly lying or failing to do research.
So, I was watching Kickassia last night, and if you pretend it takes place after Suburban Knights than Ma-Ti's scene becomes 10x creepier and we get a neat interpretation of the Critic—he's so shattered by Ma-Ti's death and his inability to do anything about it that it's driven him to want ultimate power. His supposed plan to become "Bigger than God" could be interpreted as wanting power over the afterlife so he can keep his other comrades from dying and/or resurrect Ma-Ti, but by the time he conquers Molassia he's just too far off the deep end. Ma-Ti's speech about how he once cared for his friends makes no sense on it's own—he's always been a douche up until this point—but imagining it takes place after Suburban Knights, in which he did soften up quite a bit, could be Ma-TI reminding him (in dream form) of his shattered motivations.
Also, both have Take That!s at Pres. Carter. Walker was born the year he left office; I wonder what his beef is with him.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.<mod hat on>
Busy Street is not the topic, guys.

I actually figured Ma-Ti wasn't actually there in Kickassia and was more like a manifestation of Critic's conscience. Also the small bit of him that knows he has a bit of worth and likes his job. As for "strong and loyal", despite all his flaws he is resilient and he has cared in his own weird way for Chester, Chick and That Other Guy.

Luke just couldn't make it, I presume, seeing as they were on good terms at the end of SK.
Sheesh. This thread sure turned violent a few times didn't it? Anyways, I liked Suburban Knights. I'm aware of its flaws, along with the fact that it's not good compared to Red Letter Media's films and every other complaint discussed in this forum, but I found it quite funny. Plus, even if you don't like it, you have to respect the fact that they were doing this anniversary event and many crossovers in some of the worst weather conditions possible (the commentaries explain this) within the span of a week.
And for people who complain that Doug uses jokes that he'd criticize in his reviews, I have a feeling he actually likes those jokes and just complains about them for comedic value. He and Rob do need to get more help on the writing though, as they have way too much stuff to do without writing this script alone.
I'm also an anime blogger.![]()
Poor wording choice on my part. I never actually watched Red Letter Media and was just quoting the other people on the forum.
I'm sorry, just had a "Eureka!" Moment. If they do a murder mystery next year, the dead guy should be Phelous, because his death doesn't preclude his involvment with the special.
Critic: I've gathered you all here today beca—wait, Phelous, what are you doing here?
Phelous: Investigating my death, just like everyone else.
Critic: But—then—how can you—
Phelous: Do you even watch my show?

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. So? It's still been established that he can come back from the dead.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. Not to impede on the speculation but I was wondering if anyone would entertain my thoughts.
This movie is okay. I get it, it's meant for fans and I am a fan, even if I'm trying to distance myself from TGWTG because I feel like I'm spending to much time watching silly internet videos that make me laugh once in a half-hour, but I digress. Here me out though, it just feels to me like these reviewers are the pot calling the kettle black. Now I get the limitations, extensive as they are, but when your working with nothing you make sure what you do control is damn good, what they did control was the script.
Now I get that if your a true-blue, hardcore fan of everything these guys make you'll love this thing. It just seems like while they're good enough at complaining about or gushing about things, they (or at least most them) just look like hypocrites for some vehemently bashing something when they cannot do much better. And its not the special effects, or the acting I even care about, its the story. There are elements of this that work and had potential but petered out after introduction when the next development arises. It just seems like it could have been better; and me, being the guy suggesting they go easier on works of fiction, am not a hard guy to please.

I just find whatever videos of his I watched to be bland. The "top ten movie speeches" one I groaned at because of the pompous rant at the end and a bit of not doing research.
