I like basically anything dealing with the One Year War, War In The Pocket being my favorite. Outside of that I liked Char's Counterattack though there were a lot of pacing issues. Stardust Memory is kinda meh, it has a strong beginning and a pretty strong ending but it petered out in the middle and I couldn't get attached to any of the characters as much as in previous UC series. Watching Gundam Wing for the first time at the moment, and not gonna lie, its a PREEEEETTY big step down from UC Gundam for me.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. For Zeta I am not one for Angst as well. I dont know I think it's the setting and the way things moved forward it felt grand (Even though a few other Gundam series have been just as large if not larger) and like a real war. (I was not the biggest fan of the Kill Them All at the end though I always felt like Emma and the Radish should of survived. But then again Emma was marked for death with her Heel–Face Turn.) The Gundams were never Super Prototype overpowered as the enemy had stuff better than Zeta even before it showed up.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!The last Gundam show you should watch before getting burned out is 08th MS Team. It is the most realistic, doesn't overreach in its story, high production values, and has a good message. Not that other Gundam shows don't have these but angst and bad writing are the banes of this franchise.
Think Of The Ewoks.....And once again, with 08th MS Team being the only exception because it handled it alright, Gundam shows have terrible romance plots. It should have been obvious that Kamille x Four was going to be retarded.
Now, I think that the Kill em All ending was not used unjustifiably. Random characters getting killed during the ending fits with the War is Hell setting of the UC. Emma was one of my favorite characters from the show, and the way her and commander Henken's and the Radish's end was handled alright (Henken was in love, after all, so that easily explains his boneheaded move to try and protect Emma). The haphazardness of who lived and died (and got mind raped) was exactly how real wars are.

WHAT A HORRIBLE NIGHT TO HAVE A DIALOG BOX INTERRUPT GAMEPLAY.So for the last month or so, I have been watching nothing but Gundam shows, thanks to a good friend forcing me to. Having never been that into Gundam before, I'm really enjoying it. So far I've watched...
Mobile Suit Gundam: The one that started it all. Really surprised me with how ahead of it's time it felt. Yeah the animations dated, but it has a compelling story and fleshed out characters. Plus it's interesting to see the development of archetypes and tropes that would be used in anime for decades to come.
Mobile Suit Gundam 0080:War in the Pocket: My favorite so far. A personal, poignant story with believable characters and an ending that made me cry.
The08th MS Team: Loved this one too. Focusing on the ordinary grunts who fought in the OYW and having a more realistic take on mobile suit combat. The romance between Shiro and Aina was really sweet and thankfully didn't become a Romantic Plot Tumor.
Mobile Suit Gundam MSIGLOO: It provides an interesting preceptive during the OYW and I like the premise of a crew of Zeon weapons development researchers testing out different weapons. Plus the actions scenes are very well done. But it suffers from shitty CGI and a lack of engaging characters. The third OVA, Gravity Front, is slightly better, but the CGI still get's in the way. It's hard to care about your cast when they all look like lifeless dolls.
Mobile Suit Gundam 0083:Stardust Memory: It drags in the middle and Koh and Nina are awful leads, but it has some interesting characters like Gato and Delaz and a strong, if very depressing, ending.
Mobile Suit Gundam:Char'sCounterattack: Thought it was a satisfying conclusion to Amuro and Char's relationship overall, though I loathe Quess and Hathaway.
Gundam F 91: Rather meh on this one. It has some nice fight scenes and the animations fucking gorgeous, but otherwise I found it pretty forgettable.
Anywho, planing on watching Wing and Victory next. I watched bits and pieces of Wing on Tonami when I was younger, think I was bored by it. So should be interesting watching the whole thing, though I admit that the clips my friend showed me, looked pretty narmy.

I'm done.
Sweet saints in heaven, I'm done!
Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ, Victory Gundam, G Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam X, Turn A Gundam, Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny, and Gundam 00.
EVERY GUNDAM TV SERIES!
Now all that is left is OV As, Evolve shorts, SD Gundam...it's basically mop-up procedures. After eleven +/- 50 episode series, the rest is child's play.
Hey, it might not be so bad. Remember the last time Gundam gleefully delved into cheesy shonen cliches?
What's precedent ever done for us?
The difference is that G Gundam still had seriousness, and didn't look like an obvious money tie in. Also everyone was awesome.
Silly isn't bad, but this looks less like a Gundam story and more "COLLECT EM ALL KIDS!"
Its early I admit, but I hate all the designs. The AGE Gundam is basically RX-78 with a silver rectangle on its chest.
Correction - G Gundam was an obvious money tie-in aimed at a younger audience and redeemed after the fact by surprisingly affecting writing and endearing silliness (Nether Gundam fuck yeah!). At present, we have no idea how the plot of this new series is going to pan out - we only have the concept and preview images to go on. It could suck, it could be surprisingly fun. Me, I'm reserving judgment.

What's precedent ever done for us?If G Gundam did not have the great characters and surprisingly great story then I can see your point. I did enjoy it for its campiness I admit.
Maybe I'm just picky, I hate child protagonists in Mecha.
Also G Gundam had some great designs, the serious and non serious ones.
The normal look of AGE and its expansions look ugly as sin.
Thing is, great characters and a surprisingly deep story are not things you can pick up from previews. Basically, try to put yourself in the place of a Gundam fan in the early nineties checking out the previews for the fancy new AU they're marketing the crap out of. What'd be your opinion of it with the limited info you had?
What's precedent ever done for us?Just found an article with pictures.
To be honest, the idea of having a Legacy Character protagonist in order to cover a century-long war is quite intriguing, and opens up a remarkable number of storytelling possibilities.
What's precedent ever done for us?Well, Victory Gundam had a kid hero...
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntIf it's gonna be like Victory, this kid is gonna be in for one hell of a ride.

I'm an atypical case, I think.
I loved G-Gundam, Turn-A and X...
I probably won't like Zeta, but I enjoyed Victory greatly.
Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams!
