Ah yes, Maria Holic turned anime series. Where we once again retreat to the life and shenanigans of Miyamae Kanako, despite the monumental fallouts in Japan that can rival Chernobyl. And hey, it made me forgive what Studio Shaft did about letting a certain sadistic girl-hater author do a show!

Let's discuss this wacko show right here ^^ I know you want to

Not quite getting the rashes compared to before, are you Kanako?

Not to be confused with that Kanako, although they can be the same mentality

Bah, there's only one Kanako worth talking about.

What about the other Kanako? Who is into Goth Loli, Brother Con, and Bondage.

Anyway that post there OP seemed rather harsh.

How so? You mean the reference to the ongoing disaster?

Yeah, I sure could use some subtlety but then again.... I seriously, seriously hope that whatever's going on, the local and internet audiences can hope for only the best to happen for the crisis

I really enjoyed Maria Holic and I am looking forward to the second season. I also love Shaft in general. I'm watching Negima right now and I like what they've done with it.

I like the Maria†Holic manga yet do not care enough to watch Studio Shaft's weird interpretation.

Lazy and pathetic.

The comic had always been that 'much'. Shaft just took it steps further for one, nay, two seasons

You know, I'm always kind of surprised when I hear people getting angry about the treatment of Kanako. About how it's all anti lesbian and stuff. It always seemed to be like she was only really getting what she deserved for being such a huge pervert. And it's not like we're supposed to think Mariya is anything but what he is: A huge asshole.

My problems with Maria Holic are the complete reverse : Kanako is —ing annoying (and totally deserves what happens to her, but that doesn't make her a compelling protagonist), and Mariya isn't enough of a asshole (seriously, Kanako's "friends" are much more dicks to Kanako than him during Alive's first episode).

I guess you have to be a Yuri Shipper to truly get Kanako's character. S1 had many moments where I was screaming just throw her a bone here.

Truly get it? The point is that she's a pervert. You can be sympathetic, yes, but seeing her as a buttmonkey is not missing the point.

I can argue that the point is neither Kanako being a pervert among the sane people, nor how the situations are always against her fantasies. It's how her yurilistic whims can't be fulfilled even if you're in an all girls school

Kanako is just Moroboshi Ataru in female form. So I don't mind her misfortunes too much.

[up][up] I never really thought of it like that. That actually makes it less offensive!

(Though it just bugs me me that Ataru is seen as just another lecherous harem protagonist, whereas Kanako is seen as earning her misfortune because she's a lesbian.)

Wait, I thought that OP was supposed to be a oneshot? It's kind of annoying if it's going to be every week.

Well it took what 5 episodes for Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei to get its opening? This OP is made of all S1 shots too so it really cant last.

Well the first one was the second has a lot of new animation.

Woah a certain someone is a Romance Of The Three Kingdoms Otaku... I wonder if she plays Dynasty Warriors cool. Is it bad that I knew every single name drop? And knew exactly why they were lamenting about Guo Jia?

It's a rather famous book, so no.

[up][up][up] You actually bother listening to the OP every time?

The op was completely different this time. Even more Super Robot. And if it's catchy hell yeah listen to it evey time.

The Shout Outs in this ep are insane. God using a Zabuza Sword Kanako's maid delusions are all the Infinite Stratos girls a standard Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei event and Monster Hunter, Doraemon a glowy Magical Girl moment (couldn't pin this one down to just one.

The real ED is awesome.

[up] Maria Holic has always been a cult title. We fans are devoted, but it'll never have the followship of a Bleach or Negima.
