It seems like something he wouldn't do even at "his" stupidest.

Some quasi-Gumball news: Cartoon Network greenlit a new miniseries for the same studio—and possible the same team? They make it sound like they're going to finish Gumball and entirely switch to this. Although that might just be because the studio doesn't any other shows for the staff to work on.

2D animation for season six is almost finished. The animation supervisor started his last week, and as far as he can tell, this really will be the last season.

Next week's batch of episodes are out. I particularly liked "The Transformation" and "The Ad". Nice that Penny finally got a major role again.

I like how it's not just Patrick, but Penny's entire family - including Penny herself - who are prone to the "terrifying threats" bit.

I can't believe I never noticed that Penny and Nicole have the same voice actress.

Is it just me or has Darwin gotten a bit stupider in the last few episodes.

I think it’s just in “The Potion”.

He's a bit of dimwit in "The Ad" and "The Understanding" too, though not to the huge extent as in "The Potion."

Most of this week's episode were alright, but "The Buddy" was really good.

I'm always a sucker for plots about two secondary character interacting for the first time.

And the show continues to use Darwin as the best delivery system for casually grim jokes. "When you think about it, the whole country's built on an ancient burial ground." Holy shit.

I really liked The Buddy too. Anais having an adventure with Jamie of all character is one of those ideas that sounds too kooky on paper but really works in execution.

"The Buddy" was nice. I was sort of dreading the return of Jamie, but she's not such a terrible character now that she's teamed up with Anais.

Jamie's status as a shallow bully and Anais' lack of social skills and inability to make friends were super cringe, but "The Buddy" fixed both of these issues. Hopefully status quo won't render these developments null in void.

Because sometimes, the show retcons stuff. Or maybe that's just due to Early-Installment Weirdness.

Personally, while I find Anias social anxiety is a little cringey, I also think it makes her much less insufferable and so I'm all for it.

The Silence. Yet another episode where Darwin and Gumball are adorable.

Though my favorite part had to be the bit where Darwin makes a joke about animators, and his leg gets erased in retaliation.

Mine was the part of the song where they were so out of sync, they were practically yelling gibberish.

That or the new variation of "Liquor gives you Little Richard." where Gumball's Bat Deduction drifts into talking about contrived deductions meant to advance the plot.

Hate to necro this thread with a nasty subject, but does anyone know about this?

Apparently the maker of Gumball isn't a good person…sad

Summary from the same writer.

Coats is claiming Bocquelet told her a gross anecdote, and when she complained he apologized at first, but then had her fired and downplayed her writing credits.

[up][up] Hang on, what…

("Tweets aren't loading right now")

Hmm. Let me check the web version, surely…

("This page doesn't exist!")

Uh…hmm.

For the uninitiated, Louise Coatz made a twitter thread telling a story about how when Cartoon Network (or at least its division over at London) was going to fire the creator of Gumball for being REALLY unpleasant to work with, she got new writers and it got the show a BAFTA. But then the creator and some other cronies of his threw her under the bus claiming they did everything she did.

And when courts got involved, she says they lied under oath, claiming they didn't even know her partner.

There's a lot more on her Twitter page. Brace yourselves, though.
