No, it's bloated. Downhill?
...Wut.
It is.

The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well....Year Zero was so bad it made Stabbing Westward look good.
That "Wut" was in reference to The Slip which was pretty good by Trent Reznor standards.

...And I'm not exactly a fan of Trent, as you can probably tell by the Heaping Helpings of Incoherent Hate I tend to ladle out when his name shows up.
With Teeth? An abortion of sound.

The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well. The fact that, out of all the Industrial (or Industrial Metal) artists out there, HE was the one who made it big. He's not bad, on the contrary he's talented, original, and COMPLETELY deserved his place as one of The 10 sexiest men in Rock n' Roll that Playgirl gave him in 1994. It's just that there are better artists out there who are much more representative of the genre who get no fricking airtime. None. Every time I hear "Head Like A Hole" on the radio I can't help but think, "Dig It should be there."
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.Dream Theater:
Disc 1:
- "Ytse Jam"
- "The Killing Hand"
- "Metropolis, Pt. 1: 'The Miracle and the Sleeper'"
- "Under a Glass Moon"
- "A Mind Beside Itself" ("Erotomania / Voices / The Silent Man")
- "The Mirror / Lie"
- "A Change of Seasons"
- "Lines in the Sand"
- "Trial of Tears"
- "Fatal Tragedy"
- "Finally Free"
Disc 2:
- "The Glass Prison"
- "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence"
Disc 3:
- "This Dying Soul"
- "Stream of Consciousness"
- "Sacrificed Sons"
- "Octavarium"
- "Wither"
- "The Count of Tuscany"
So, it's basically a Dream Theater retrospective.

In times of change, learners inherit the Earth and the learned find themselves perfectly equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists
Was just about to post that, thanks.
Also, what happened to my beautiful thread? It was all so simple and fun, and then...
◊
Yeah, anyway. Black Sabbath. This will cover the Ozzy years.

Okkervil River, because they're my second favorite band, I feel like it, and this will be a good soundtrack when I'm sleeping.

Listen to Music with Tropers at The Troper Turntable!I deliberately avoided Hoppipolla, partly because even I'm starting to get annoyed with it, and partly because I think even someone who's never heard of the band would probably know it, whether they knew they knew it or not
Also, included Viðrar Vel Til Loftárása for two reasons: 1) It's the central point of Ágætis Byrjun, and serves quite well in that function for this purpose as well, and 2) because I absolutely freakin' adore it. Also, I think four Takk... tracks would've been overdoing it slightly!
Listen to Music with Tropers at The Troper Turntable!
Takk.. is an incredible album. I love that while they were on tour for that album, they were interviewed and told that their fans would sleep during their shows. Jonsi said it was an honor knowing that.
Takk is AWESOME. Even if it's not my usual listening fare.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.Havalina Rail Co. This was harder than I expected. This is serious "the map is not the territory" material here. 10 songs isn't even enough to accurately represent Russian Lullabies or America, let alone their entire discography. Their official greatest-hits album (compiled by the band themselves) didn't do a very good job representing them, and that was too long to fit on one CD.
That said...
- Radio | A Bullfighter's Guide to Space and Love EP (2001)
- Devil in the Cornfield | America (1999)
- Carlos | Space, Love & Bullfighting (2001)
- Dominique's Library | The Diamond in the Fish (1996)
- Worst Days | Space, Love & Bullfighting (2001)
- New Song | Havalina Rail Co. (1994)
- Winter | Russian Lullabies (1999)
- Bullfrog | America (1999)
- This Monkey Don't Take Nickels & Dimes | Havalina Rail Co. (1994)
- Twilight Time | Russian Lullabies (1999)

Embarrassing? I really don't think so, especially considering most of his stuff after was downhill from there.
