Hell no he isn't a Marty Stu!
Most people are wary of him outside of close friends, his wife got taken to a pocket dimension after contracting a magical plague, and he knows no magic. He is just a very good melee fighter and tactician.

I'm judging him based on the numerous characters ripped off of him. You could fill a small country with Drizzt knockoffs alone.

"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyOverconfidence. On top of the elf's standard racism, there's also sexism, which stems from the female's superior physical abilities and greater magic reserves. On top of that, is the Chaotic Evil tendencies that comes from a society of backstabbing and cutthroats. Suffice to say, Drow Females usually die violent deaths.
Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.A WMG that formed a long time ago:
Humans are the first "Half-Breed" Being of a Dwarf and an Elf.
It made sense to me, since in all fantasy settings humans seemed like the middle man between those two anyway.
This raises the question: Why are they called humans? how did they grow so diverse? And how drunk were both parties that such a mistake happened?

The Danse Macabre CodexActually, as I understand it, they don't need goggles, their eyes just take more time to adapt.
Also, I'd like to point out that the half breed theory makes some sense, but there are problems. See, half-breeds generally have dilluted versions of their parents' strengths and weaknesses. As I see it, since elves don't have any particular weakness to poison, humans should have a slight poison resistance, being part dwarf.
Also, both dwarves and elves are generally shorter than humans. Why would a half-breed be larger than both its parents?

It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.Elves differ in different settings. They can be faerie-sized, child sized, shorter than humans, or 6-7 feet tall slender people.
Unless the drow has lived for 2-5 years on the surface, glasses/goggles are recommended.

Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected. You'd think so, but consider this: they wear the goggles, so their eyes are for the most part shielded... Suppose the fall off, or an enemy pulls them off? suddenly, the drow's eyes are exposed to blinding light! They can't see! Then, the enemy has an opening. Quick swipe of their blade, and off with the drow's head.
And they do vary, but for the most part, I mean.

How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?

Right... badass.
