Seems like two random traits assigned to a character that has no correlation with each other and tell us nothing about him, except that he has a quirk going for him.

Character idea: A polite British teen that's so clumsy, that he is always wearing bandages and/or casts. However, he has magical powers of some sort and is assigned to look over a yet to be conceived character. What do you think?

My question is: if he's so clumsy, how did he get the assignment to look after the character in the first place? Or are you going for a Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass sort of thing?

I've realized that I'm officially addicted to writing. Now I just need to channel that addiction into writing this uber-simple paper about Japan and the situation with their reactors for Honors Physics.

And I realized something else- I recently regained my love of writing one of my characters after having him duke it out in a Battle in the Center of the Mind with a Humanoid Abomination who wanted to destroy his identity. But since he's so powerful, most RPs would ban him. That makes me feel a little sad.

He has to look after a star athlete, to play against his clumsiness. It gives a cool dynamic that way. Otherwise, I'd be meh.

And as a Brit, there is no-one who is ultra polite, and even less people who are teenage and ultra polite

Hehe. I just figured out an awesome theme for chapter three, along with a really awesomely dramatic way to end it. Makes me all giddy and happy and everything. grin

Still need to write another 250 words for the day, but I think I'm going to go and make some more coffee first. Because I likes me my coffee.

[up][up] Well, I want him to be foreign, since he'll be an exchange student, but I already have a French character. Maybe Italian? Also, I want him to seem older than he is, and actually competant in battle. A clumsy intelligent type.

The character is in an organization desprate for manpower and money, so that could be a justification.

Breather Episode chapter beginning GET.

And in this little snippet, they are talking B Movies. (And Daniel seems to be a fan.)

Meanwhile in the city of New Denver…

“So that’s my theory on him, he’s not actually hamming it up personality wise, it’s all just a charade!” Daniel said sitting in his chair in the restaurant he, Tenchi and Mat were in.

“Quite the theory for a B movie.” Mat replied.

I Was A Space Marine! is not a B movie!” Daniel said indignantly slamming his palm on the table.

“Yeah it is. Me and Mat saw it in theaters years ago back home. The only reason it made money was because it was so godawful it became utterly hilarious!” Tenchi said reaching for his cup of coffee. “Besides, the sequel got delayed for another year or so last I checked. It makes me wonder, how do you top the hamtacular acting, the poor special effects and the cheesy plot of the first without being more of the same?”

“Perhaps it was a throwback in style, you know to those movies that had really low budgets and amateur writers behind them?”

“Perhaps Dan, but at least it wasn’t a crummy soap opera.” Mat said polishing off the last of his plate of pancakes. “If it were a good soap opera I never would have been able to break Sam away from it. She’d be a complete fanatic for the thing.

“You mean like La Familia Pequeña? Every time that’s on back home you can’t get her away from the show.” Tenchi said amused.

...Could you please wait until Friday evening? I'll be in New York when it starts, it'll probably be on its third or fourth page within those three days.

Friday evening? I don't know if I can do that. I might get lazy...so Saturday evening, or even Sunday? I need time to do some revison.

Sorry if I'm putting to much effort in a forum post, but this is a good chance to polish up my writing and show what I can produced beyond just one moment of typing. I'm not really happy on what I posted in the last two threads, so I want to try harder on this one.

Blargh. Zaps of inspiration are only kept to "funny/witty line of dialogue that really isn't", but progress is progress.

New concept today. A Western in which both Indians and cowboys act like complete dicks toward everybody and each other.

I kinda do feel like reconstructing the Savage Indian trope, mostly because for some Indian nations at some points in history it was definitely more accurate than the Noble Savage trope.

Woke up really early this morning, and spent most of it researching, catching up on my writing podcasts, and staring blankly at the wall as a cat stole my lap for a nap and claimed my hand as a convenient pillow.

I'm also feel oddly giddy, and I'm not sure why. I think I'm going to try to get my words in early today though, before it fades off again.

I'm not reading anything past the first line until I get some work done on my own thing. [lol]

Decided to make my Steampunk Slice of Life a mystery. It has now become both more interesting, and easier to write. I downloaded A Series Of Unfortunate Events for inspiration.

Of all the perfectly sound ideas I have and could use for another side story, I'm going to write another damn zombie short. And this time, it's an alternate universe one, so it's completely pointless.

@animemetalhead, previous page: One of the lessons of Na No Wri Mo is not to let things stop you. You identify road blocks and you avoid them, rather than hitting them. Don't know what a chapter should be titled? Give it a placeholder name. Same with a character. Can't work out how to start something? Then leave a few notes about what should go here and skip ahead. Can't deal with writing this scene? Leave it for now, go onto something else. The trick is learning how to keep those words flowing, by any means necessary.

A brighter future for a darker age.

Do you guys know any resources or advice that might help keep writing at a steady pace when some measure of speed is required? In couple of weeks, I will be challenging myself to see if I can complete a whole (rough draft of a) short story in one day.
