I'm in. Send it to me once you're done.
Yeah, the same sex is a different story...I tend to find Ho Yay in my work before I even put it to paper...
Although, it's not all bad. It DID lead to the cementation of many a personalities. So I am thankful for it.
Read my stories!Yup. I was reading through the Punk Punk pages, and one said that most Steampunk and Clock Punk works don't talk about the far different values from the eras that those settings take inspiration from, as compared to the values today.
While I will try to make the values in the Present Day Steam Punk era relatively realistic for what happens when a society grows and develops and becomes smarter, there will be some interesting views about things like homosexuality and such.
That seems somewhat odd to me; you think it would be harder, not easier, to write a homosexual couple.
It sounds like it might make for an unusual inverse representation in the frequency of the ratio of heterosexual and homosexual couples. (something like 1 in 10 people are gay, correct that figure if it is wrong) I personally do not know of many examples of gay couples. My step aunt and her girlfriend are (I think they are going on 15+ years now), but that's really the only ones I actually know personally.
Just seems in most works, unless the woman is older they tend to end up with someone. Then again there are typically more men around her so it might make sense if there is 10 guys for every 3 woman. That is just common experience I have seen in real life, when there are less woman than men chances are instincts will kick in faster for the males 'competing' for the scarcity of mates.
The reason I asked was because I realized that one of my main (female) characters would work best with no such attachments, and that I can realize a more full way to get what I want out of the story in terms of 'romance'. I don't want to spoil it yet though, and it would sound stupid/be embarrassed if I even tried to explain it.

as of the 2nd of Nov. has 6 weeks for a broken collar bone to heal and types 1 handed and slowlyBut does fetish fuel add depth to a character? At least in the same way most other relationships do?
edit: I'm seriously asking. Would fetish fuel be having a character display a slight tilt towards a certain fetish? or just one meant for the fans to infer?
edit: I am asking because I just do not like the idea of making a bunch of characters into fetish fuel. it seems overdone if everyone has a fetish, at least when you define fetish in the more clinical sense (dependent for attraction). And not even in that usage I am not going to tell each of my character's sexual preference for hair/eye color/body type.
anyway, this is a separate though entirely from gay couples, just as to not ad confusion.
edit like 3rd time. ok sorry kept clarifying things, might want to check again if I changed anything important, nqw im not sure if i did, let alone remember. im distracted atm

Read my stories!^^ Okay, I admit it — I think that's awesome. It makes me giggle and everything.
Currently clawing my way through the Big Bad restaurant scene, and doing it insanely slowly. Also managed to hit my 750 words today, after four days of missing the mark.

I'll see how long I can write two versions of the same chapter before my brain explodes, and then I'll decide which viewpoint character I want to use. On the other hand, my plot is growing.
Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey BitchfestI have a horrible habit of pairing off my characters (or more-than-pair, for that matter). I don't think it's unrealistic; humans have a habit of developing relationships among those they associate with, if their sexualities are compatible. The relationships may be of any sexuality, though given that I seem to create more female characters f/f relationships are probably most common.
Relationships are fascinating things, and thus I must have them for my characters, or a damn good reason why not.
A brighter future for a darker age.Naturally, being a teenager means I insert Fetish Fuel into my works. A few months ago, there was a Transsexual boom in my works, along with a few more LGBT characters.

more than pair?
I see that... being very complicated. Are not most human cultures now days geared towards monogamy? Or at least try to uphold it? A three-way+ open relationship just does not seem... realistic in most circumstances?
Now if it is something different with no commitment/friends with benefits than that is different. But an actual three-way relationship just would in most cases cause a lot of problems (they think you care more about the other person, ect ect)
Or did I misunderstand you?
Is it just me or is there a lot more jam packed sex/fetish/sexuality in works (outside erotica) than I realize? You guys are really... open... about your characters' sexuality.
I havn't even explored that in my characters for a few reasons, and maybe I am just more private about sex though. Mostly because I don't think even mentioning what sexually turns on my character is even remotely relevant, it will only bring about assumptions on them. If something is plot sensitive in how he acts, I only very lightly imply it, leaving people to speculate.
Or is this a unique thing to this forum? Last I checked most people do not have a fetish/kinkyness in how it is portrayed in fiction. You don't need each character to be sexually "abnormal" (for a lack of a better word) to make a good story, and packing it jack full of fetish fuel has the potential to diminish the work in my opinion. Though the exception to this is manga
Indeed, the Land of the Rising Sun is full of kinky people.
I'm sorry if I offend anyone here, I am not trying to, I'm trying to understand why. I just find it really hard to grasp why so many homosexual/fetish/sexual deviation from normal sexual relations seems to be so common in the mentioned works. Just speaking statistically, it sounds highly over-represented to me here. Like as in vastly out-numbering the majority.
Are all of you just that kinky? One statistic I just found says about 30% report having a fetish, and I assume most are fairly mild.
Anyway I didn't mean to invoke a talk about sex... it's feeling really awkward for me now (damn it Jason, you idiot)

Has ADD, plays World of Tanks, thinks up crazy ideas like children making spaceships for Hitler. Occasionally writes them down.@jasonwill 2: I'm polyamorous myself, and I presently have two loves, both of whom have other loves as well. Thus, I'm writing what I know.
These forums are likely over-represented in kink and non-heterosexual sexualities.
