Man, how could people even be so stupid as to allow Harper a majority after all the bullshit he's tried to pull?

That's what people want, it's I want, it's all good.

Fair representation would mostly benefit urban minority representation at the cost of Quebecoise French representation. It's definitely going to put the NDP in a bind.

[up][up]That's what around 40% of the population want. So yeah, some people.

I think everyone left and right can be united in happiness over the death of the BQ. This is probably the greatest day for Canada in two decades.

I don't think the BQ going down the shitter matters if we get fucked over by Harper.

I think it's actually a good idea for Quebec to be guaranteed around 25% of the seats. As the old saying goes, democracy is not about two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner.

At any rate, rural ridings are over-represented currently which does benefit the Conservatives.

and that's how Equestria was made!

I don't know much about the BQ. What's so bad about them anyway?

They're Quebec separatists. Really they have no place being a federal party.

Well, I knew that. But is that it?

They are separatists, but I don't really have a problem with them. Quebec will never leave, but having the Bloc in the house always made sure they felt appropriately represented.

@Tsukubus Are we celebrating the death of their national party status? If so drinks are on you :D

Though I will miss Gilles calling Harper a liar every so often.

I don't get why people are so happy about that. I like the fact that the seats they lost went to the NDP, but otherwise I don't see why anyone outside Quebec should give a fuck.

I guess it is.

I don't have so much issue with a tory majority but I have plenty of issue of how they got one, basically by lying, stealing, cheating and breaking laws. So then Canadians give him a majority cuz apparently Rule of Law just doesn't matter so long as your conservative team wins.

The turnout was 61%. 39% of 61% of Canadians (or 24% of the nation) just gave a majority government (54% of the seats) to the Conservatives.

Thank you, first-past-the-post.

Yes, I mad.

But hey. You won, and there's always next time. Assuming Harper doesn't institute doubleplusgood Party policy and ban elections. To be honest, next time is looking rosier with the Liberals and the Bloc out of the picture.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Holy fuck jesus even fucking Michael Ignatieff lost over here in Etobicoke-Lakeshore. I am not looking forward to 4-5 years of Conservative majority.

Also thanks breadloaf for posting all the news items over this election.

I'm going to be 20 when the next election is called. Going to University with Tory policies is going to be fun...

My sympathies go out to Canada. Even kittehs can't make me feel much better!

Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.
