Unfortunately I don't believe Amazon Jp will ship to Australia anymore.

I might have to check other importers.

So if we smush Daemon x Machina and Astral Chain together, I think we can pretend X is on the Switch.

[up] I wonder if Astral Chain started as an X port...?

Lol nah.

Anyway my XB 2 artbook arrives tomorrow! Was going to arrive today... and didn't. Oh well. I'll try to post some pictures once I have it, let me know if there are any requests.

Sorry for the double post.

But I have it in my hands right now. AMA.

Also taking requests for characters or pages!

To start us off: it seems Rex or the placeholder that would become him in concept was a Shulk-clone (not literally, blond hair much simpler sword). And Poppibuster's weapon was originally a Naginata for Poppi.

Wasn't there a height chart in there? I'm curious what the official heights are.

Time for the ultimate question:

Mythra vs Pyra deathmatch. No weapons or ether attacks: only bare fists.

Mud Wrestling is legal.

Who do you think takes it?

[up][up]Page 219, yeah. Rex is 150cm by his hair spikes, with Pyra/Mythra at about 157. Nia's a bit shorter than Rex, while Morag and Zeke are about 180 if you count Morag's hat.

By contrast Vandham's the tallest party member at 200cm, matched by Malos who is also 200cm.

The Torna crew doesn't get an official height chart, their version is much stripped down. It does seem to suggest that Zeke is a bit shorter than Addam if you compare to Malos and Jin (Jin's roughly 185), while Hugo is the shortest human party member at 150cm. That'd make Niall taller than Hugo, as Niall is 160 (tied with Lora for that matter).

[up]Mythra, Foresight is OP.

Since this thread started popping up again, I remembered that the Siren model kit has some additional lore added to it, which someone fan translated. Gonna post and spoiler tag it, just in case.

… It’s Mui Mui.

I, Mui Mui, am an inquisitive, curious Nopon versed in robotics. Sometimes I’m too curious, and I find crazy things in my possession. Just the other day, I was scammed by a salvager who told me he had gone to the very very bottom of the cloud sea, the Land of Morytha! What was I fooled into getting, you ask? I was fooled into getting texts written in some Gibberishese! He lured me into getting it by saying that if I could decode it, I could understand the secrets of the Aegis, and make significant strides in robotics, and I just went along with it! But no one can read this Gibberishese. Maybe the legendary Nopon Archsage could? In any case, I can’t read it, so it means nothing to me. Meh, I should have just used this money to buy a years worth of pollen orbs instead… Anyway, I’m releasing these texts that I spent so much on to get. If someone can read it, please share it with me. Then I’ll use the secrets of the Aegis and make an artificial blade that is way bigger and better than Rosa…!

SIREN

Siren is an Artifice (a class of terminal interface weapons) that was manufactured in the Orbital Ring, found in the lower orbit of Earth. A distinctive feature that these Artifices have is that they were not weapons created by humans. They were created by a collective of artificial intelligence known as the Trinity Processor, and designed as a class of weapons meant to be devices to the core, the Gate. Put another way, the artifices are cells of a larger autonomous system. Because of this, the weapons that were created had been created in a way that was fundamentally different from that of a human weapon.

Within the Orbital Ring, there is a massive academic institution known as Aoidos. This massive institution was formerly confined to a small university laboratory. But at the beginning of the 21st century, a scientist from that laboratory found a certain magnetic abnormal matter in Africa. This matter, later to be known as the Gate, was at first simply an intriguing artifact that was stratigraphically out of place, being so technologically advanced. As research continued, it was proven that the Gate was a perpetual motion machine that defied the laws of energy, and also that this was the source of the magnetic abnormalities being detected. In response to this, the Unified Government*1 formed a research institution for further study, and because this institution required a vast amount of resources and people, Aoidos was born.

According to a report filed ten years after the formation of Aoidos, the Gate was, as the name implied, a gate. It had the function of a door that could connect multiple universes. It is not hard to imagine, were a “Multiverse Joint” (Eng. localization: meta-universe manifold) to exist on the surface of the planet, that there would be catastrophic consequences for Earth as a whole if an accident were to happen.

During this time period, the Unified Government set up three orbital tower Bean Stalks on the equator (First tower: Rhadamanthus, second tower: Aeacus, third tower: Mīnōs), and these towers were connected to the lower orbital portion to create the Orbital Ring. This project was set forth by Aoidos, and the Orbital Ring was meant as a way to further study the Gate far from the surface of Earth. At this research facility, a governing artificial intelligence collective known as the Trinity Processor was raised to maintain the Gate. The processor, using Biocomputer*2 elements, was raised in a virtual reality to gain a personality, and this system would be used to govern the Gate.

The Trinity Processor would go on to expand systems to govern the Gate without the interference of humans. It was during this process that many of the Artifices were created, out of necessity to protect the Orbital Ring. Rebel groups not aligned with the Unified Government were all demanding that the Gate be handed over, after all.

Because of their unique origin, the Artifices come with unique functions not found in manmade weapons. Artifices do not have any internal engine. They have a built-in system known as a Slave Generator to receive energy input from the Gate to function. Artifices all have an emerald, Gate-shaped crystal that functions as the receiver for the Slave Generator. Siren has a charged particle laser that is connected directly to the Slave Generator, and this is what makes it able to shoot a massive laser beam. In actuality, it is more accurate to say that the Slave Generator charged particle beam had some additional upgrades to make it what it is on Siren. Siren was a shining blade, a beautiful and simple device meant to be wielded against those the Trinity Processor deemed a threat. There is a design philosophy to it that won’t be found in anything manmade.

*1 The phrase used here is identical to a government in Xenoblade X known in the English localization simply as the “coalition”. It hardly appears in the actual game (The only instance I can think of is when it is described that Elma was a colonel for the Coalition Heavy Armor Training Unit back on Earth) but does appear in the short stories that were published on the Japanese website. I’ve kept it as “Unified Government” because the potential connection between 2 and X is currently dubious at best, and the direct translation gets more meaning across than Coalition.

*2 Just to be clear, the text here is referencing a system very similar to the Kadomony from Xenogears.

Yeah, Mythra would definitely take that one if they're both going at full power.

Right. I mis-wrote that. It's supposed to say NO weapons or ether attacks.

I guess no foresight for Mythra either.

Now lets try that again, to satisfy Rob's evil desire for a good Cat Fight.

In that case, it could go either way:

1. Mythra deliberately created Pyra to be a less powerful version of herself, so that's a point in her favor.

2. Even if she didn't, and all things were equal, Mythra's personality is much more aggressive, so assuming that they're both actually invested in the fight, Mythra is probably going to be fighting harder.

3. That said, Pyra being calmer might work in her favor, since she'd probably be able to strategize a little better.

4. Pyra also has the advantage of shorter hair.

So obviously, the winner of this fight is the audience.

Decided daemon X machina wasn't good enough as a substitute and nintendo was taking too long to port it to switch so I did the thing I legit thought I'd never do again. I dusted off the wiiU, hacked the thing once and for all because I am not putting up with the endgame grind and the random equipment traits again, and restarted a fresh playthrough of X.

Never in my life have I known I needed something so badly and still put it off for so long. I still haven't got to play Torna and now it looks like it will wait for another couple years.

Even NLA's night theme is tolerable. I think thart speaks volume of how much I missed this game.

Chapter 5 done. Just one more loop of "dick around exploring a whole continent, do side quests, do fetch quests, talk to everyone in nla"and I get the skells back. Nnnnnice.

Redoing the game is a really cool but heart-rending re-watch bonus because you get to see the people that will get involved and die in various side quests. Powell's quest was sad, but it's harder now that you can go back and see that he was pretty open to the manons before her wife died, and you can see said wife getting overwhelmed by her work. Ooof.

Just finished opening the bianho waterplant. It's actually pretty light on the foreshadowing of how bad things will go down but oooooooh boy I can't wait.

oh you can count on that. But I lucked out the first time and got most of them right IIRC. Ajoa was alive, i took the blue wire, I did murdered the suids... Oh right, there's that prone that wants to tame a mount that I might have fucked up, but he was questionnable anyway. And maybe the lategame quest about a wrothian and a prone, but the death of the prone seem scripted anyway.

More or less. If it's an opportunity to kill indigens and Ganglion, take it, it never hurts. You can't save Gi Zang's friend, but you can stop the Definian impersonating him from attacking you later on.

Some less obvious choices include making Team Slovity make amends with the Tree Prone (if you don't, somebody dies in a later quest and there's nothing you can do about it) and giving L's customers the opposite of what they're asking for (if you give them what they ask for, the products turn out to be defective). I've made a whole video series on what choices to make for each sidequest on Youtube.
