Agreed. You should not have to spend hours trying to collect one item...especially when you are required to get 50 of that item.
One Strip! One Strip! It's certainly one thing Xenoblade 2 did right in making gathering much easier.
Yeah, and Torna made it even easier by indicating what each collection point was. If they would move that system into X in a port, that alone would smooth out a lot of issues. Along with maybe indicating where party members are on the map when they aren't with you.
Reaction Image RepositoryThe way you grind to obtain postgame equipment (especially for skells) should not exist outside an MMO.
I don't mind having to grind for materials, but they should be near guaranteed drops. Squad tickets should not be the fastest reliable method to get those masks if I can kill the enemies who drop them with ease. And something needs to be done to make the ground collectibles easier to find.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.X's biggest flaw is that it's a singleplayer game that so desperately wants to be an MMO, with all the negative trappings that come with those.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! So, after all this time, I finally got the expansion pass. All of those freebie cores and I still don't have Kos-mos. I swear, this freaking gatcha is the worst thing about this game. I'm going to have to spend countless more hours grinding just to get one Blade. At least I can now listen to Uncontrollable while grinding it out.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! The free cores certainly aren't a guarantee to get her. That's how hard she is to find. I find it more handy to find other rare blades.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Rare blades should have all had core crystals that were guaranteed to provide them, as rewards from sidequests, drops from monsters, or even just available in shops. Ditch the gacha and common blades entirely.
I'm actually (somewhat) fine with the gacha system. The bigger problem is the lack of overdrives available outside the endgame. Should have been provided with long-ass mercenary missions, sidequests and other means.
I don't have any problem with the gacha system or rarity of Overdrives in the main game.
I do however think that there should be an easier way to obtain Overdrives in the postgame before NG+. Something like making them be a rare drop from superbosses.
I also think there should be an easier way in the postgame and/or NG+ to obtain those few Rare Blades that you just can't seem to get. Something like making superbosses drop a Crystal type better than Legendary.
Edit: Essentially "I've already beaten the game, so please spare me from RNG Hell on the path to 100% Completion".

@Ultimate: Yeah, that's what I said about it. I don't mind some degree of randomness, but it's ridiculous that you have to waste so much time on it. And the game is long enough as is, so it's not like it needs padding. If they still want to maintain some amount of chance, it would be pretty easy to to just randomize which rare blades you get.
Reaction Image RepositoryI'd even be happy with someone in Chapter Ten that sells you Core Crystals with guaranteed drops.
Maybe by swapping regular crystals for either points or another currency which lets you purchase them.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobFinally got around to beating Blood Despair. Tough, but crafting a few augments, getting some Ultra Infnite Armor, and rearranging my skills made it doable. Bless the Ares 90 for letting me do a bunch of grinding much easier now.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. The ones that boost TP on every auto/art attack really makes the difference.
Cockpit mode is busted. So many tough tyrants that I'd generally have to struggle with and grind up mats for new augments to deal with normally. Or I can just throw myself at them without care until I get Cockpit mode, letting me Railgun them to death twice in a row.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Use the G-Buster to stagger an enemy, then clinch their nipples to gain more Skell Fuel. Rinse and repeat. Hope Cockpit Mode applies so that you can do it again immediately.
With Luxaar's Xern down and all sidequests completed, the only thing I've got left for a full survey is Dinobeast itself. Fun grinding times ahead.
Also I checked, and why does a bunny suit seem to require so many materials from a Telethia? Just what are those things made of?
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. If you want fanservice you'll damn well work for it!
(Note: This position reversed entirely between X and 2)
Dinobeast is dead, and with that my Mira survey is complete. Needed to up my damage output a bit to get past the second phase cleanly. Third phase wasn't too bad once I got the hang of dodging its sleep attack, though I did get lucky and get multiple cockpits in a row once its mind reading wore off, so that helped a lot. Long journey filled with plenty of grinding, but I mostly enjoyed it. The old loop of killing things to make stuff to help you kill things easier and faster still works like a charm.
Kind of want to fight the other superbosses and mess around some more, but I'm about X'd out, so probably later. Well, my Wii U isn't good for much else, so I'm sure I'll come back.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Alrest Record, 392 pages of art from 2 and Torna, out February 2nd in Japan for 2900 yen.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."So for those not following, the Xenoblade 2 artbook's out, but shipping's been delayed by weeks on a huge chunk of them due to high demand.
Mine's one of the delayed ones, we'll see when it arrives hahaha.
Love that cover.
Is it different to the one that came with the collectors edition, aside from the Torna stuff?
Or is that not known yet?
Also, where would one purchase said book.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobIt's different, yes. Shares some amount of content with the CE book, but has maybe half again as much stuff, in more detail, and (apparently?) includes Torna content.
I ordered mine through Amazon Japan. There's guides to creating accounts there. You could also try importers or Kinokuniya's website.
If it does get ported (which is kind of a long shot), I hope they re-balance the resource collection so collecting stuff isn't so much of a pain.
