Mickey clenched her teeth, determined not to rise to the bait. But as soon as she sensed danger to her book, she yelped and grabbed it, hugging it to her chest.
"Leave me alone," she said, glaring at the other girls. Honestly, how could they possibly be related to her? There were days when Mickey seriously doubted her mother's ability to judge character.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!"I am good at magic!" Mickey clutched the book to her chest, trying to protect it from further damage. Anger boiled up in her, and her eyes flashed bright blue. Her lips began mouthing her favorite spell and the pebble that was lying on her desk floated into the air. Mickey flung her arm at the bigger girl and the pebble shot at her, hitting her in the forehead.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton! The girl fell backwards, blood dripping down her head, she was apparently unconscious, the other sister looked, open-mouthed, at Mickey.
It was at this moment that the Jackals struck, they jumped into the cabin, keeping quiet. They swung some form staff each, at each end of the staff there where large blue blades. one performed and uppercut on Mickey.
The other two Jackals attacked the Aphrodite cabin.
The Jackal jumped backwards, out of Mickey's range, it still swung it's staff, the weapon being longer than the girl's sword. The other girl in the cabin started to chant an incantation and a ball of fire appeared in her hand. She threw it at a Jackal but only angered it. Said Jackal swung it's staff at her, cutting a deep gash into her arm.
Mickey clenched her teeth and grabbed a pebble from her store on her desk. Not bothering with magic, she threw it at the Jackal and took the opportunity to close in and try to stab it through the chest while it was confused. Jumping backwards, she slashed at the other Jackal, looking at the other girl angrily.
"Don't just use magic, use your sword!"
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!Mickey leaped in the air, bringing her sword down to stop the attack. A bit too late; she was clipped in the foot and winced. Nevertheless, she came down and landed on the Jackal's staff. Keeping herself firmly planted to avoid the Jackal attacking, she lunged forwards with her sword.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!Mickey brought up her sword again to block his feint, favoring her wounded foot slightly. Her eyes widened as the Jackal slashed at her other side and she desperately whipped her sword around. Too late to block him, but in time to prevent anything fatal. The Jackal's weapon opened a deep cut in her side, but Mickey knocked it away from her and stepped forward, plunging her sword into the Jackal's stomach.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!Mickey kept herself calm, her fingers pressing against her injured side.
"I assumed a powerful god such as yourself would know where he might be," she said evenly. "Especially if he spends most of his time in the same house as said powerful god."
Continuing in the same even voice, Mickey said, "I believe he will want to talk to me, if he is told that the dogs from earlier attacked my cabin."
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!"I don't believe them to be stray dogs, sir," Mickey said, struggling to keep calm. "As they disintegrated in the same way monsters do. If you won't get Chiron for me, would you mind telling me where he is so I can send him a message?"
Deciding that contradicting him would only lead to him getting angry and be counterproductive, Mickey didn't speak out against his forgetting her name.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!

Mickey's apparant sisters perked up.
"So how is your practice going sis'? Oh, I forgot, you suck at magic." One of the sisters sneered, the edges of Mickeys book started to get singed with heat.
The Jakals passed through the barrier, they silently walked around the back of the camp, splitting up. Two Jakals headed for the Hecate cabin stealthily.
