Funny thing, Chelsea has just put Stamford Bridge's naming rights up for sale, too.

Also, in other news... Carlos Tevez.

A gold star to the pitch-invader in the Czech Republic for effort and originality. But it's a shame that he chose the halftime interval to grab attention; midway through one of the halves would've made this legendary.

And Mario Balotelli, whom I continue to like more and more for some reason, nets his first goal for the Italian national side in style.

So, Republic Of Ireland will probably (bar a catastrophic meltdown) get through to Euro 2012 tonight, having a 4-0 win from the first leg in Estonia. All they have to do is not lose horribly at home. Kick-off in 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, England play a friendly against Sweden, with starts for Kyle Walker, Phil Jones and Jack Rodwell, but alas, still no Daniel Sturridge, despite his recent good form with Chelski. And for some bizarre reason known only to Fabio, Jones is being played alongside Barry and Rodwell in central midfield. Errrrrm... okay. Anyway, a win would be nice - we haven't beaten the Swedes in 12 attempts, since 1968. Now's as good a chance as we're going to get; I haven't seen a more mediocre looking Swedish team in over a decade.

Denmark just kicked our ass in a friendly (2-1.)

In the Euro2012 qualification, both Croatia and the Czech Republic have won their games 3-0 on aggregate, so they'll be in the tournament. (The teams that they beat were Turkey and Montenegro, respectively.)

I was hoping that Estonia would make it to the finals, but I didn't really believe they could pull it off.

Bosnia & Herzegovina are currently losing against Portugal (2-1; first game was 0-0.) Personally, I'd rather see Bosnia & Herzegovina make the finals.

It's 6-2 to Portugal now, so that's not going to happen.

Also, England being boring again, as usual. The 2 friendly games show that they struggle to convert. Justified vs Spain, but missing those sitters against a Sweden side who were second-best despite England's averageness? Needless, to say, I turned off at half time to do more enjoyable things.

What we have learned is that England still need either Gerrard or Lampard to provide goals in midfield, as Rodwell and Jones clearly can't. Maybe they, along with Jack Wilshire, will step up to it in time, but for the coming tournament, we still need our old guard for goalscoring at least, even if the new blood is doing well elsewhere.

Was Theo Walcott in the starting line-up? England should find some room for him in their squad; he's a player who can score.

Yup, in fact, he was one of only 3 players (the others being goalkeeper Joe Hart and the already-mentioned Phil Jones) who played in both friendlies. However, it it was Gareth Barry who scored the only goal, which happens to be England's 2000th international goal, and the goal was provided by Stewart Downing. It was deflected as well, by the way.

The goal against Spain was from a corner kick, which Frank Lampard converted.

To be fair to the young players, Rodwell and Walker were, along with Stewart Downing, the best players on the pitch, and Jones was being played out of position for no discernable reason. Walker especially was causing the Swedish defence all kinds of trouble down that right hand side. I think he might make the right back position his own pretty damn swiftly (unless Micah Richards can continue his good run of form for Man City and convince Capello he's worth picking).

Also, our goal has now been credited as a Daniel Majstorovic own-goal. Sorry Gareth Barry, no landmark goal for you.

I'm so glad that Portugal made it instead of Bosnia.

Also Austria lost again despite being the better team. Big surprise there.

Oh Sepp, you tedious old fool. Being compeletely ignorant and backwards with regard to football and internal corruption is one thing, being ignorant and backwards with regard to racial dicrimination is quite another. And no, you can't get away with playing the 'charming old racist Grandparent' card. You're more like that cold-hearted, Daily Mail reading Uncle that everyone hates.

Daft old man in saying something daft shocker.

Anyway, Blatter always being tied up in arguments with the English Premierleague is getting old fast. England's top clubs haven't done too badly out of the way the game is being ran, to say the very least.

And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)

FIFA's Puskas Award Nominations are up. Or, 'Goal Of The Year', to you and me. Top three for my money:

  1. Wayne Rooney. Much as I'm loathe to admit it, that bicycle kick was ridiculous.
  2. Neymar. That one-two was perfectly timed and the close control was unreal.
  3. Dejan Stankovic. Yes, the keeper was out of position, but he'd done well to clear it in the first place and the control on that half-way line volley was absolute perfection.

Dos Santos made Tim Howard look like a chump.

Not that that's a hard thing to do or anything, but it was great to watch.

That's 2 points clawed back with a Celtic win and a Rangers draw. That closes the gap to 10 points, and we have a game more to play (Dundee Utd at home on Wednesday night). So it could be down to 7 points by the next derby match, which is at Celtic Park.

Everyone should go see the Puskas award videos that were linked to earlier.

I can't decide which one is the better goal: the one by Neymar or the one by Messi.

I don't know what's so great about the one from Ibrahimovic. Sure, that was a pretty long shot and the accuracy was impressive, but I don't see why it wasn't the goalie's fault for not catching it.
