Ok, so the YKTTW read like an instruction manual without any pictures. Instead I thought I'd post my suggested term here and see if a kind soul would pass it on... if it was deemed good enough. Its not a new trope (as far as I know), just a term that our circle of friends coined and continue to use in discussions about film, TV, comp games, RPG material, etc.

Thanks :)

Term: Billy (also called Billies or Billied where required).

Meaning: The death of a minor or major cast member (TV, film, fiction) or nonplayer character (for computer game/RPG situations). Usually the death is unexpected, quick and possibly inglorious/brutal... but the character needs to be annoying enough that the viewer/reader experiences glee at the demise. The character's gender or species does not matter.

Origin: The character of Billy Keikeya from the revamped Battlestar Galactica series. This character was deemed annoying that his demise was met with glee and his death was somewhat unexpected and quick.

Usages; "Movie X was great, there were a few Billies in there." [Movie X contained the deaths of some annoying characters]

"It was awesome... X got Billied." [Character X was gleefully terminated]

"X is really annoying. Lets hope for a Billy." [Character X needs to be killed off]

I think this proposal is doomed. There is a good reason why character-named tropes are frowned upon these days : there are tons of major fictional characters named Billy, a random visitor would have no clue which one this usage would refer to.

The Billy is a horrible Trope name. This trope idea also seems to have some overlap with Take That, Scrappy!.

Did the OP check on Lost And Found to see if the trope already exists? I'm pretty sure we have it.
