But to be honest, uniforms are not really high on my priority of things that are an issue in schools. I'm much more concerned with pedagogy and curriculum, and class size and such things. That's probably what annoys me most about the uniform debate: It tends to be one of the things people latch on to when it comes to school reform, when there are other far more important things to deal with first. Create a school with a strong pedagogy, and then look at whether uniforms can improve or hinder that.

I don't really give a shit about school uniforms; it's just people who automatically react to school uniforms with OMFG YOU'RE STIFLING THE KIDS INDIVIDUALITY AND CREATIVITY AND FREEDOM OF SELF-EXPRESSION OMFG YOU HORRIBLE HORRIBLE AUTHORITARIAN PERSON that pisses me off. For reasons that I've already explained above.
