Yes. First he started blabbering about killing someone, and next, he got physical. That's equals phychopath murderer in Alexia's mind.

I didn't expect this to happen this early. [awesome] Best. RP. Ever. You shocked me when Miles shot Christina.

About the groin attack, as long as you grin and bear it, you can still move your arm enough to shoot someone at point-blank range.

And did the GM commanded you to get Miles go crazy, Dragon?

Yeah. And on that topic: I've got limited experience with 'em, but groin attacks, but enough to know they hurt like all hell. Sure, relatively simple actions like pulling a trigger can be done right after one, especially as a reaction, I guess, but more complicated things than that will most likely be mucked up by the pain... unless you're badass or like it that way, I guess.

Oh, I'm not saying the shooting is unrealistic. Just the remaining-standing-and-spiritedly-defending-his-actions that came afterwards.

Well yeah, kinda tricky being snide right after something like that.

Also: Damn you for making this RP go interesting just as I'm going to bed evil grin

By the way, I think a few more tropes had popped up, so please update Reunions Dark Summer and add to the list.

Let me see...Mood Whiplash, Groin Attack, You Fail Gun Safety Forever...

EDIT: One thing I regret that I didn't do in the RP in retrospect was that I didn't have Alexia use the line, "That the hell are you talking about" line again to use as an Ironic Echo, and a contrast to the scene before.

[up] So, did it go exactly as planned, or did we decide to go a different direction than you?

Where's Chance? Who exactly is he? I think he's not what he says he is.

Okay, I haven't read all the posts, but you need to remember Miles's ability. He sensed her intent before she did that, therefore, he pulled the trigger as she was doing that! Am I questioning why the hell she didn't fall over screaming in pain, or how the hell she managed to bring her knee up with a bullet through it?

And he didn't! For christ's sake, read the goddamnpost! He slumped to the floor, and he already edged away from her! Stop telling me to do what I've already done!

We were too into the moment. Miles shooting Christina was shocking enough. I didn't except something like that to happen so soon. Besides, you forgot to bring up his power before it was too late.

Miles going crazy is an indication that the main plot had already began: Everyone has a secret, and as each one is unraveled, the chances of survival gets slim. Since Daniel and Lucia also seem to have Ax-Crazy Hidden Depths, they, along with Miles, will be the main player antagonists, while the others turn against each others as paranoia goes high. The question is: who is to be trusted.

And what is Tashi's secret? What is the Grandfather's role in all of this?! wild mass guess

I take it Miles was to occupied with Christina to notice Alexia's flaring negative intention against him. Either that, or she was out of his radius.

He already knew she was against him.

And he isn't the bad guy! Can't we hold a civilized discussion about this?

Well, Alexia didn't know that when she put Miles at gunpoint. All she know was that Miles shot her, and if she saw Christina attacking him, she would've thought it was self-defense, since Miles confessed to killing someone, and Alexia doesn't know Christina's secret. Plus, rational thinking goes out the window in situations like this.

Poor Communication Kills. Alexia is now against Miles, and it's more interesting that way.

This is probably an excellent time, from a narrative perspective, to remind you that Miles probably knows Christina's secret. What with all his connections in the legal world. What better way to restore your own reputation than to unearth the spotty past of the girl you just shot?

Feel free to embellish the secret as Miles sees fit, I'll either work it into the backstory or assume Miles was lying or mistaken...actually, Christina will probably (once she wakes up) accuse Miles of lying regardless, so you never can be sure what Christina really did.

(By which I mean— Christina has a foggy criminal past. Who knows? Maybe she's killed someone. Maybe Miles knows, or maybe he's wrong. Go crazy.)

People are going to want a scapegoat, you did fire the first shot, think of this from our character mind you fire a blank Jokingly. Your character is very haughty and talks down to everyone threatens, other characters acts like he has no regard for life, then mentions the time he killed someone and then a fires a bullet, and now that character is looking in critical condition all in the Webcomic Time of 15-25 minutes.

The fact that three or four character aren't dead is a freakin miracle. The only other character we could blame is unconscious or close to it. I'm sure she will be reprehended by her family to but for now you awake and unharmed for the most part. there is going to be a lot of this it's family drama where everyone has a secret and a superpower.

Also I'm surprised nobody used any points during that. Remember you can use them to hurt or help other character just tell me in PM and keep it a secret.

I just want to put this out there, Tashiro views on women and gender roles in society are not a reflection of my own in any way shape or form.

Also I should be up in 8-10 hours. BTW I'm up now. (and have been)

He talks about the time he killed someone, yes... but he also talks about never being able to forget it, and not in a good way. He was saying it like he thought he was going to hell for it.

Oh, by the way, someone ask him about his religion. It isn't a reflection of mine, but I think it's interesting.

Points guide: (This is a guide line of examples if you have an idea or series on ideas we can always work something out. )

1 point: Have an NPC change there mind on a single question, change an answer, ect.

2 points: Can be used to make an NPC complaint for an entire conversation until they leave the room.

3 points: Change an NPC's attitudes to you from Neutral to friendly or hostile to neutral ect, clear a minor obstacle, undo a minor action(like a slip of the tongue).

4 points: Have an NPC be more than friendly to you or even consider you a friend, prevent a dying character from dying (within reason).

5 points: Alter an on going plot point, undo a minor plot point

10 points: undo a major plot point alter an going plot ect.

15 points: Reality Warper, Retcon, ect.

Major points spends will be detailed in red text, and maybe undo by spending the amount (which will also be listed) plus 2.

Major spends are 5,10, and 15. To undo a 15 point spend you must spend just 15 points. If you fall short you can alter events on top of their alterations instead.

Alright... If I were to spend enough points to stop her from dieing, which she probably won't, anyway... can it be due only to Miles, or is it going to be some miraculous happening with someone showing up just in time?

Well, how good are the characters at doctering a shot leg until a doctor arrive?

And can major changes even force the players to do stuff?

I'm just not willing to spend those points on someone who tried to kill me without some appreciation. "Your quick action saved her life," or something. I. Am. Not. Being. Turned. Into. The. Villain.

Sorry, it's just that all the characters are being stupid! Miles is suffering from PTSD, never being able to forget that he killed a woman In front of her bloody children! He needs sympathy, and he's called pathetic for shooting her rather than... what was his other option? Oh yes... getting killed with a meat cleaver. Then, people start attacking him because he fought back when a girl was holding him at knife point.

How is any of that fair?

I refuse to be a scapegoat.
