Thank you (blushes). I am in fact thinking of trying to sell them, but I'll need to practice first. To ensure that they look polished and "professional". Also, I need to figure out how to set prices, make decent photos and so on... Then there are logistics. But thing is, I do intend to figure that out. Anyway, it is good for me to start making these again. Gives a certain sense of satisfaction
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonHow I price some things is cost + hour wage in creation. Different projects have a different wage for every hour I work on it based on the complexity of the work.
Standard retail markup is 300% on average.
Just make an assortment and set up an Esty shop. See if a local shop will let you set up a display. Music, bookstores, and local coffee shops are good for this. Maybe a local clothing boutique if they don't already sell jewelry.
Wherever you set up, be sure to have a disclaimer saying how because everything is handmade your particular item may differ slightly from the pictured item. People can be cranky and you need to cover your bases.
"Psssh. Even if you could catch a miracle on a picture any person would probably delete it to make space for more porn." - AszurHoowhee! Here's a picture of the finished outfit I was working on. Not on him, obviously; we somehow managed to not get any full-length photos of him wearing it on New Year's Eve, between three of us all with phones that take pictures and or a camera. Silly us. We were giggling too hard, I think. He wore brown corduroy trousers and a black bow tie with it.
Awesome outfit.
I've made some more bracelets (it seems that bracelet is optimal for my patience). Only posting the ones I am satisfied with.
This one
◊, with the colours that remind me of mojito
This
◊, essentially a colour swap of the previous one
And this

Also, learning to make semi-decent photos

If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonWell. Should you find a method of international shipping you feel comfortable with let me know! I will still buy your goodies! Its worth the extra shipping to help a trooper out, let alone get something fun!
Now this
◊ one I am actually proud of. Took me forever to make the fringes lie as they should.
As for this
◊ one, I've actually messed it up a little - those two-hole beads are somewhat complicated to work with, as it turned out. But yay, I've figured out (some of)the Chinese knots.
I call these two bracelets Virtual Villagers and Jade Empire, for obvious reasons
That first one is real pretty; I could see a fashion model sporting it. The second is awesome...however the ribbon would rapidly soil if the piece was worn regularly. Otherwise, both are awesome efforts. Keep it up!
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~The satin ribbon looks beautiful, and it would be great for a piece that was only worn on special occasions. I just know costume-junkies and how they like to wear their favorite pieces all the time.
Heh, back in my school days when I just learned beadwork, the tutorial books recommended to meld the pieces of the thread permanently together around the wrist of whoever is going to wear the bracelet. No kidding. So I had to figure out how to make clasps by myself :)
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonIt'll be especially fun once I start making this hat for my sister
.
Wow, that's quite ambitious!
I have asked my sister-in-law to show the photos of my bracelets to her colleagues, and it seems that some of them are willing to buy it for about 8$
Let's hope that they won't change their minds once they actually see my work.
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonHow am I supposed to entertain thoughts of selling cute tiny fedoras to my Lolita-wearing friends when all of the good hat-related puns are taken?
Thoroughly Modern Millinery... well, I didn't expect that to be free. Or iLid. Felter Skelter was a stretch but I wasn't surprised. Keep It Under Your Hat? Flip Your Lid? Nope. Even Cross-Hatting, The Hat Pack, Hatback, and Topper Shopper are taken. Bah.

In short you've got the creator's eye. Use it and keep using it and try to vend it. You do in fact have the knack.
