Inari sat on the railing, watching over Regg. She looked serious.
"The forces of the ocean is no plaything. It is no coincidence that it is the gods and goddesses of the ocean and the sea that are among the strongest. Because the ocean is more than just a lot of water; it is a force of nature. The powers that are active are so great and so complex that just attaining the bare minimum of control is very hard."
"As I said earlier, your Divine Essence does not have a very strong link with the ocean, and thus this method will be very difficult. You will have to weather the great power of the sea and carefully, very carefully, make your way to the essence of the ocean. And there, you must focus all your power into shifting the great forces that are at work into a subtly different track."
"You can not "use" the ocean as you are now. The only thing you can do is to...convince it. But that comes later. First you will have to reach that highest metaphysical layer of the ocean."

The Inheritor's psyche hit the great power of the ocean straight on, giving him a powerful aftershock. The next moments felt like an eternity as everything slowed down to an incomprehensible flow of complete agony.
Inari wrenched the pearl out of his hands, suddenly breaking off his connection. Regg came to on the deck with an absolutely splitting headache of demonic proportions and a nosebleed. It did not help that Inari soon started shouting at him, her voice savagely attacking his tender eardrums.
"I said carefully! Do you have a deathwish?"

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!— Now that his eardrums had been damaged (again), Inari's dulcet tones hammered at the inside of Regg's aching skull like they were driving in a nail.
The trickster staggered to his feet with a growl, one hand clamping down on the pearl while the other seized the side. —
"You said reach, Fox, now shut it! Lemme try something else..."
—He fixed her with a hard stare, covering every inch of her from eartip to feet. Regg shut his eyes, and imagined the pearl now blood red. Imagining his metaphysical hand to be heated, he reached out and gently touched the porthole. —
"He could not know it. For it was not all a joke."Alfred lost his scimitar; however, he dodged the tackle. "Very good, lad," he said. "It seems that I do not have a lot to teach you about combat." He went and retrieved his blade. "Shall we have another bout, or do we call it even?"

"If you wish to continue, I wouldn't be opposed. After all, not much to do here."
My name is Cu Chulainn. Beside the raging sea I am left to moan. Sorrow I am, for I brought down my only son."Very well," replied Alfred. "Though, before we continue, there are two questions that plague me. May I?" He asked, clearly not wishing to intrude upon Eoin's privacy.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Alfred sheathed his scimitar. "Well, the first question is personal, the second isn't." He paused. "The first question is: do you use your Inherited knowledge in battle?"
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Oblivious to all this, Will still stood just outside the captain's cabin, eyes still closed and arms still outstretched. It was clear from the expression of slight strain on his face that he was doing his best to keep the clouds gathering overhead controlled; keeping them large and dark enough to be readily visible for when Elian returned, yet at the same time preventing them from loosing their contents upon the ship and drenching everyone in a sudden and torrential downpour.
The Danse Macabre CodexEoin blinked slowly, considering the question.
"I haven't had much of a chance," he said; a pause, then, "Yet."
"I plan to, when the situation arises. Apparently, this is what I got out of the deal, other than the physical changes; hate to let it go to waste if I could use it for something useful."
My name is Cu Chulainn. Beside the raging sea I am left to moan. Sorrow I am, for I brought down my only son."I see," said Alfred. "The second question is, do you have any idea where I can prepare some tea on this ship? As in, where is the kitchen?"
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home."Ahh, I see... By gray ladies you mean the Graeae, the sisters of the Gorgons... I apologize, I did not know of them by that name." He said as he abstractedly began stroking his goatee in deep thought.
For a second he almost forgot that he still did not know the objective of these three females, and that he shouldn't let his guard down like that.
"May you tell me what you three are doing here on this island, and tell me of your intentions?"
Vir Sapit Qui Pauca LoquiturElian could hear a distant rumble far away and was reminded about the other godlings and the boat. What should he do? Should he continue to ask these females about their intentions or should he fly back to the boat and lead them to the island? They had to be getting hungry; they hadn't had any proper food for a while, that's for sure. And Will, keeping that cloud above the boat would surely grow tiring rather quickly, so he should hurry.
Yes, he had no other choice, he needed to get back to the boat as soon as possible.
"Very well. I will go back to the boat which you already seem to know about and I will inform them about this island and the three of you, and there may be a possibility that you could come with us on the ship." He directed his gaze to meet the eyes of the girl who had earlier made it quite clear that she didn't want to meet any others as if asking for her permission to leave.
Vir Sapit Qui Pauca LoquiturAlfred sighed. "I shall ask Master Everetts, then, after he finishes his current business."
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Elian thought for a moment what he should do. He could climb to the top of a tree and fly from there, but it'd sure be troublesome as his wings would surely get stuck at some point. He decided that he'd just follow the path back to the beach, as it wasn't that far and he'd be able to move more swiftly now that he knew the route.
Vir Sapit Qui Pauca LoquiturThe only thing that happened was that Inari raised an eyebrow.
"I do not know what you think you are trying to do, but I am going to take it as a sign that you need some more rest before we continue our lessons."
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! Will, of course, continued to stand and hold the clouds over the ship. It had been at least thirty minutes since the winged Inheritor of Khronos had departed to search for land, possibly longer, and he was beginning to tremble ever so faintly from the effort; there was a lot of rain stored in the black clouds gathering overhead, and every moment they hung there in the sky, unable to shed their contents in the usual course of things, was a moment of considerable strain for the young man. They were certainly large enough to be noticed by Elian if and when he returned, but if he did not allow them to disperse or void their contents soon, the ship would practically be flooded by a downpour of biblical proportions.
"I can't keep this up forever man," he hissed under his breath. "Hurry, blast it!"
The Danse Macabre CodexElian could see the cloud gathered over the ship in the distance and could feel the air getting thicker as if a storm was brewing. He tried to imagine how difficult it must be to hold something back like that cloud for so long. How difficult it would be to fight against nature like that.
As he flew he stretched his arms out in front of himself, slowing down time so that the wind resistance wouldn't be as great. It didn't go well as fast as when he flew to the island, but he made it back within sight of the boat quite quickly as a black speck in the distance.
Vir Sapit Qui Pauca LoquiturAble to feel the presence of Elian as he flew through the clouds, Will sighed in relief and began to lower his arms. Slowly, the clouds began to disperse and break up, their swollen dark bellies brightening as they released their rain upon the ocean surface in a pleasant and controlled shower; soon, only a small smattering of clouds remained to indicate the ship's precise location.
The Danse Macabre Codex

"Yaaagh!"
— Regg's eyes snapped open, and he braced himself against the side, looking ill. Inari's leaf unfolded from her ear, drifting in the air a foot away from her face.
How The Fuck Do I Use That? —
"He could not know it. For it was not all a joke."
