Also, how did he have these kids? I get a vibe that he had PJ as a full human and that sent him into chasing immortality, but even if that is true, how did he have Cody? Not by biting, or he'd simply be a full vamp like his thralls.

I wouldn't be surprised if she came to object to what Davy had become, or what he wanted to do to Cody in the name of protecting him, and got a little murdered over it.
But this isn't a comic where that's a safe bet.

Yeah Cody was pretty assuredly made via normal biological methods. And whatever happened to his mom is an endless sea of options but I bet we're gonna find out some time.

Note that Cody mentions that Davy doesn't know he knows his mom is still alive. That is fairly deliberate wording. It's not that Davy doesn't know about her; it's that he thinks Cody is ignorant of that.

I think the real reason Davy toook Cody's heart is so that he'll always have it close at hand in case he needs to stab it.
Damn. Zack was right when they said this was Mayview and Everyone's Beef with Their Weird Dad. Like, in terms of normal dads, we have Mr. Starchman, Peter Puckett (possibly), and Dimitri's dad (again, possibly).
If a lady covered in scars sent me a letter marked with lipstick threatening to kill me, I would also marry her (or die trying).
Cody's plan revealed. And it looks like every conspiracy is bringing their plots to a head at the same night. I'm guessing if the main characters don't get involved, all the plots will fail because everyone screws each other over. I imagine that's how the town has survived so far.
While I was rereading this webcomic, I did a double-take after realizing one of the guest comics was done by Abby Howard. I've been playing Scarlet Hollow and Slay the Princess, so it was neat seeing more of her work online.

Sister Mouse is a spy trying to take the whole thing down. Still odd none of the main characters are even near what is supposed to be a climatic culmination of everything all the villains have been working for, but we'll see where it goes.

Oh lord Davy has physically put Cody's heart inside of him with his space-warpig powers, hasn't he? Of course he's done that. He'd like to see anyone try to stake his little boy now, I'll bet. Plus the linked page shows that it's a means of sensing when he's in danger (or otherwise excited?).
If PJ is his lost son, that would go some amount of the way towards explaining why he's being so disturbingly overprotective of Cody.
