Murder Loves Killers Too wasn't half-bad. There are only a handful of deaths, but it hardly matters with such an incredibly brisk running time. It's also not entirely the cut-and-dry backwoods slasher I was expecting; there's an amusing twist near the end(though I thought momentarily it would bolster the body count). The acting is mediocre, with one of the most annoying performances I've seen in a slasher in a while, but thankfully, that character dies swiftly.

A word of advice, since this apparently slips aspiring young filmmakers' minds all the time (it was drilled into us in college): always, always, always make sure the proper authorities give you permission to film when and where you want to film. At least give them a heads-up.
Especially if you're filming something involving lots of screaming and stabbing and hockey masks and whatnot. Better to ask permission than beg forgiveness in this particular case.
It largely depends on what kind of film you want to shoot. A decent "found-footage" short film shouldn't cost too much.

For an example of that, one of the bonus features for Cannibal Campout mentions an incredibly awkward encounter (he drew his gun and everything, apparently) they had with some kind of forest ranger (as you can probably tell, I forgot the finer details of the story).
And unless its especially creative and/or fucked up, people to are liable to ignore a found footage film, as almost everyone is sick of them.
Try cordoning the area off with something?
Finally sat down and watched Manniac
(it's two hours long). As it wasn't dubbed or subtitled most of the story was lost on me, but it didn't seem too plot-heavy, as it was obvious the emphasis was on the splatter (which ranged from good to mediocre) and the hardcore sex scenes (none of which were particularly enticing).
There's a ludicrous bit where the villain is arrested, the screen goes black, and when we return he has somehow killed three police officers, despite being nothing more than an unarmed and entirely human chubby balding man.
To the extent that it can be considered a "slasher" film I watched Island of the Dead last week. Er, House of the Dead, sorry. Seriously, why didn't Boll just go with that title? It's even dropped in Spanish at the beginning.
Of course the only characters who should have survived and had a sex scene (Casper and Kirk) didn't, because that would be awesome and make sense.

There's that Texas Chainsaw Massacre game for the Atari, but yeah.
Checked out Fear of Clowns, which I may have thought even less of if I had watched the uncut version, which is an odd thing to say about a horror film. But the unedited cut is two hours, and even the 106 minute long version felt like it could have been trimmed.
The killer was a shirtless clown with black eyes and a battle axe... not sure if creepy.
The first review
(that I'm aware of) for Bloody Homecoming, the killer firefighter slasher I once brought up.

Just saw Sledge Hammer!. If anything, watch it for the final 35 minutes or so, and stick around for those gag credits. But as for the rest of the movie-well, it seems the director wanted to leave some space for fan theories, considering the inconsistencies.
