So, just saw "The Awakening" on Nicktoons and I'm a little disturbed. The... implied incest vibe I got was... yeah. And this is from a guy who's usually into damaged chicks like Azula.

When I read the title, I for some reason thought this would be about creepy avatars on here. Like mine.

[up] I expected it to be about the OTHER "Avatar" - you know, Dances With Smurfs?

And yes, Azula is Creepy Awesome.

Now you know how everyone in 2007 felt. It was awesome odd.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.

Problem is, I don't think there's much room for a man who steals eyeballs in a story like that.sad But I haven't checked yet.

People are looking for things that aren't there. I've seen the scenes. I don't see any incest vibes. People really need help if they can't help but see sex in everything.

It's not like it's hard to see sexiness in that scene. I mean... just look at Azula's poses. Look at them.

If you showed that scene, muted, to someone who had no idea what the show was, they'd assume that those two were lovers.

I don't see it. And yeah, music doesn't do it for me. We need the dialogue as I heard it was the tone of voice.

It has nothing to do with the visuals,in fact when I watched it the first time I figured it was just Azula being her usual intimidating self.

It wasn't til' I hit the fridge that it came to me to listen to the scene eyes closed.

And that was creepy

Eyes closed and still didn't see it.

Well, duh, your eyes were closed. Maybe it's just that you're trying not to see it, so you didn't, whereas the rest of us were just watching, and it popped into our heads.

She's in her nightgown, she makes poses that could be interpreted as "join me in this bed", and she brushes her fingers along Zuko's shoulders. Not to mention how she constantly uses her pet name for Zuko during the scene.

That's just Azula being Azula. Between the voice and her overall nature she's like that with everyone. And trust me, I know all about seeing stuff like that half the time. I just think not every single series has this quota of every single trope, deconstruction element, or subversion like a lot of people seem to think

I'm gonna have to throw in with the "don't see it, never did, can't even if I tried while thinking the dirtiest thoughts possible" lot. Really, it sounds more threatening than sexening to me.

LET'S TRY TO GET "SEXENING" INTO THE DICTIONARY :D

I never caught that when I first watched it. I just thought Azula was being weird—as usual.

I think its just everyone else with sex on the brain. Sometimes things aren't what we think they're are.
