I'm currently reading the Azumanga Daioh omnibus, and I see now why everyone praises it so much.
I caught up on Yumekui Merry yesterday, and enjoyed it. I am now watching the first episode of Infinite Stratos, and it appears to be G Gundam+Strike Witches+me being bored.
Pity my old Rah Xephon liveblog got lost in the archives. I remember writing up a post where I did a shorter version of what Arilou mentioned and compared the characters in the two shows. Some were obvious matches like Ayato <-> Shinji and Haruka <-> Misato but others you had to bend over backwards to make a comparison. Like how Superchunky could best be described as evil!Touji in characterization but Kawoaru in plot importance.
Man I wish more people have seen Infinite Ryvius(think Lord of the Flies IN SPACE), Irresponsible Captain Tylor or Noein. I'd like to chatter with somebody about those.
Hey, I've seen the former. Might look into Tylor after finishing Monster (which is great). Noein is by the same guy that did Escaflowne and Heat Guy J, so I'll take a look at it too.
I like Infinite Stratos, but then again my tastes generally don't work well in this subforum
I need to try Madoka though. I keep hearing good things but I don't know if I want to watch a Deconstruction.
I just read the description on the Infinite Stratos page.
Rather than asking why, I was asking how?

I am looking forward to having children mainly because then I can raise them up on Miyazaki like I never was.
Start with Ponyo and Totoro, then next year Spirited away, then Next year Howl, the cat returns, and finally, when I believe they won't have nightmares—Mononoke.
So, what am I missing.
DoodlesI saw this, I remember quite enjoying it.
Justice is a joy to the godly, but it terrifies evildoers.Proverbs21:15 FimFiction account. How much fanservice does Nanoha have? I know that it has some, but is it an annoying amount?
It's not an intrusive amount. It's mainly like, a couple of times when Fate gets knocked to the ground, her skirt flashes up. Or when they enter their transformation sequences, they strip naked (Anime anatomy though).
So... Yeah. There's fanservice, but it never gets in the way of the plot or anything.
There are too many toasters in my chimney! There's also far less of it in seasons 2 and 3 (unless you're counting the Numbers' moonsuits), and there wasn't that much in season 1 to begin with.

I remember that, it was a long time ago.
It's obvious there are some parallels between the series. Hell, most of them are probably intentional, but they're largely different beasts, so it annoys me when people compare them based only on superficial similarities.
