Eh, cause I'm like 'holy cow, they're rejecting people here; surely I must be worse than this the guys the rejected; I've only been in one RP, for pete's sake!!!!' I didn't know Nick was considered egrigious for his temper. Geek code red, too; boss specifically said his skills were lacking......then I took a look at my own skills and I thought 'yah, I got no chance here.'
Not just a temper. He is, quite literally, the absolute worst R Per on the site. Others approaching his nadir of quality have formed a ghastly sort of personality cult around the event horizon of degeneracy and dimwittedness.
Now, is there anything in the main thread which I must respond to? I'll be making a disappearing act tomorrow due to a rather large assignment I must complete.
"He could not know it. For it was not all a joke."Ha ha, all this talk about feeling insignificant and all that reminds me of my first months as an R Per.
My first "proper" RP was a Naruto RP room on deviantArt. Out of the people around my own level, I was one of the best, if not the best fighter. This carried over with my character getting rather cocky, and I ended up attacking the current Otokage (my character was a Sound Genin).
...Well, the Otokage quite literally used my characters as a fetching stick for his giant three headed dog summon, and ever since that always harassed my character without me being able to do anything. It made me feel rather insignificant, ha ha.
About 4 - 5 months later my character was somewhere between Chuunin and Jounin level (It wasn't one of those R Ps where you could shoot through ranks like it was nothing. You REALLY had to prove yourself). I got into this fight with this guy who was a really, really talented R Per. He was Jounin at the time and fuckin' kicked my ass. It was the first time my character got into a fight where his life was literally threatened. The only reason why my character survived was because that guy showed mercy and instead of killing me sealed the characters chakra so that I would have to learn how to fight without leaning so heavily on Ninjutsu and such.
The seal was eventually unsealed, but I found that the experience really helped me improve my overall fighting skill and R Ping skill in general... That's about two and a half or three years ago since that fight against the Jounin guy.
I managed to became a kage after about one and a half, nearly two years in that room. Sadly, the owner of the room decided that it would be better to end it while it was still good instead of letting it fade out like many R Ps do.
Those sure were memorable times...

Vir Sapit Qui Pauca LoquiturI haven't really been able to show off my "fighting skills" in this RP yet. I purposefully made a character that wasn't the fighting type, but more the tactical type. Having an ability that slows down and speeds up time doesn't exactly have any practical uses in a fist fight.
It's kind of like a challenge of sorts; not majoring in the things that you are most talented in. I've done it quite a few times before. Heh, I guess it kind of started with the time that character's chakra was sealed and I had to focus only on weapons and martial arts.

Vir Sapit Qui Pauca LoquiturWell, I am a so-so R Per, though I have improved (I hope) from the time I played Mal-Keshar in AGOG S1. Rather OOC, No-Sell, no idea of etiquette... I think its something like an Old Shame for me.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.I'm in a constant state of mind which says that I'm a decent RP'er now, but everything I did earlier sucked (specifically, I think I was a poor GM in AGOG, I was a poor player at the start of TIMCTG, I was a poor contributor in Mythril Aces, and I was poor in general in World War X). So yeah, everything is an Old Shame for me.
And I feel sort of sorry for terrible role-players like Nick and GCR. I mean, it gets to the point where no-one will give them decent advice, and no-one really gives them a chance. That and there are some people in some roleplays who can be extremely unpleasant and abrasive if they think your role-playing is poor-quality.
"One thing, though- apparently the eldest goat is the bastard child of Muhammad Ali and the Hulk." ~ Exelixi, on The Three Billy Goats Gruff.Well, GCR is getting advice (I think) and is getting better (I think). Nick, on the other hand, is just plain annoying to have around. He's like Sir Screwloose, which is a good R Per but has one heck of a temper, without the R Ping skills.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.I did all of my noobish roleplaying on a different forum before I even knew that TV Tropes existed.
I still feel that my overall RP skill is... mediocre. I may always have had a talent for fighting, but other then that I have never proved myself to be much better then most people else.
I've tried doing things like expanding my vocabulary and using various writing techniques to improve, but I've never been a writer. I'm a story-maker; I make stories. I've found drawing to be the simplest way for me to convey stories, so my goal is therefore to become a comic artist. It's not because of my love for drawing, but my love for making stories. I guess that's why I'm not the best illustrator either. He he, still need lots more practice.

Vir Sapit Qui Pauca LoquiturI love making up stories.......buuuuuuut lately I've suffered from creativity block.
Maybe I'll write a fanfic one of these day. Either a) a my little pony friendship is magic fanfic where dash finds out she has a little (and quite snarky) little brother, or b) an epic fantasy fanfic of MLPFIM (again) where the cutie mark crusaders save the world, though suffer from a lot of psych and physical damage in the meantime. Just cause I'm fasinated with the CMC going on an epic quest.
You in a better mood now, boss? The question was whether or not the 'governor' was a monstrous person (doubtably), if he has commited any henious acts before (more likely, serving Tiamat and all) or if he's just an average dude trying to make it, and hasn't really hurt anyone or anything, and he just kinda stays behind his desk and reports to Tiamat for his well being and not for any malicious reasons (pretty likely). I need to know, cause Drew would know after the touch, and depending on where he falls on the sliding scale of good vs evil Drew's reactions to him will change (if he's just an everyday man, Drew will insist we protect him from Tiamat's wrath).

Chabal speaks truth. There's a reason this one plays Lightning Bruiser characters with little in the cranial department most of the time.
(This is Dia, by the way.)

Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-Ah. You do know that you can delete the TV Tropes cookie, don't you?
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.My birthday was yesterday... Considering buying a 3DS with the money I got, however I am unsure what game I would buy. Most of the games I'm interested in for the 3DS haven't even been released yet.
I guess I'll look at a list of 3DS games and see whether I can find something that interests me.
—Let's see... There's Ocarina of Time, but I'm unsure about that one. I don't care much for graphics, so it's more of a novelty to have the game. I still have it on my N64 AND virtual console.
Then there's Kid Icarus, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land that hasn't even come out yet.
There's Shin Megami Tensei Overclocked, the remake of Devil Survivor for 3DS. I loved the original, but I can also play it on my D Si. Like with Oo T 3D it would be more of a novelty to have it.
Then there's Star Fox 64. I've heard a lot of good things about the game. I can easily imagine how well it would benefit from the 3D effect, but yet again it would be more of a novelty to have it, as I already have it on the virtual console.

Vir Sapit Qui Pauca LoquiturBelated happy birthday!
Why, thank you Lemurian!
I just remembered that if I buy the 3DS I will be able to download The Legend of Zelda - Four Swords. I've never played it, so it'd be fun to finally be able to try it out; especially considering it is free.
On Game Stop they apparently sell a 3DS together with a game for 1699 kr (292 US dollars). Ha ha, that's funny. I got 1700 kr for my birthday yesterday.

Vir Sapit Qui Pauca LoquiturHoly coconut! Just removed this closet in my room that has just been taking up space for the last year, and it's like a whole different room! I'm used to having this huge colossus obscuring the left side of my peripheral vision, and now it's empty. It's like having to get used to the layout of my room all over again.
There's at least more space in my room now, but my god is it difficult to ignore! I can't stop looking at it!
