The mortals' wills will be in control for the large part; later on, however, that may change.
The Danse Macabre CodexSome of them will, some of them will be supportive towards the godlings, and some of them just will not care and focus instead on going about their duties.
The Danse Macabre CodexDoubleposting for a marginal bump.
Well gents, if all goes well the game should begin on Thursday; your characters will have a few pages to interact/go about their daily lives as humans before the plot proper begins. Is everybody cool with that?
The Danse Macabre CodexI'll be at work (as I am now) so I wont be able to write an introductory post, since they are considerably long, but I could just be a few hours late to the party
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?Agreed, amphibian.
I plan on making San Martin Fun Personified as soon as is reasonable.
"He could not know it. For it was not all a joke."That's good to hear, guys. And don't worry, SOCR; there will be time to introduce Ari before the ball starts rolling in earnest.
Regrettably, gents, I have class this evening and will be leaving in about...forty-five minutes, give or take. Once I'm gone, I will be incommunicado for about five hours or so until I return from university.
The Danse Macabre CodexSo far, our pantheon looks like this (based off my limited knowledge)...
Yes I have it split into tiers, but this is roughly based on roles and primacy within their original mythologies (Amaterasu aside, I'm not quite sure how she would be analogous to the rest). This is a very rough concept and is not meant to demean/elevate different characters.
Colonial feels that there should be heralds of seasons. Will need to assign these roles after character signups are closed if they are not assigned beforehand.
DEITIES/ASCPECTS OF...
- Rain/Water, Fertility (Tlaloc)
- Healing, Medicine, the Sun (Endovelicus)
- Commerce/Theives, Travel. (Hermes)
- Fire, Mischief. (Loki)
- Earthquakes?
- Storms, Thunder, Strength, Destruction (Thor)
- Protection, Cats, the Moon (Bastet)
- The Wind, the Dawn, Crafts, Knowledge (Quetzalcoatl)
- Dreams (Morpheus)
- Ocean/Seas, Marine animals (Sedna)
- King of the Afterlife, Death, Wealth (Hades)
- The Dead and recently deceased, (Anubis)
- Anubis and Hermes need to somehow be reconciled together.
FUNCTIONARIES, EXECUTORS, AND HERALDS
- San Martin Txiki/Saint Martin, the Trixter, Herald of Fall and Winter
- Subordinate to Loki?
- Heracles, the... something
- Amaterasu, the... insert some connection to divine rulers/Emperors here. And maybe the Sun.
- Bastet or Quetzalcoatl?
- Taotaomona, the guardian(s) of Nature
- The Green Man, another guardian of Nature. Herald of the seasons Spring and Summer
- Hermes, pulling double-duty as the guide of the dead!
- Because of both this and presiding over commerce, related to wealth, completely disregarding any actual Greek mythological continuity this could put him subordinate to Hades.
- With this duel role in mind, and as a courier of the gods, he could be the relay between the higher powers listed above and the powers in this second list.
- Aricrethiel, guardian of Balance.
Possibly directly subordinate to Athena due to massive overlap of responsibility.- Inherets Athena's obligations of Wisdom, Warfare and Justice.
- Due to a Dominion's obligations, may share the 'middle ground' between roles with Hermes.
- Balor
- Subordinate to the amazing powers of AYEBEEMZ. or, wait, other way around. Nevermind.

How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?I don't think we have a character for Mari. And I'm not trying to relate them to the original gods, but more the new arrangement that will be formed between our characters which, as had been stated, will be somewhat in command of their new powers and not fully given over to it. Working off limited information, this is the scenario I imagine emerging from our 'party' when left to their own devices. Using the old gods as placeholder names of sort but it seems we will ultimately, ourselves, become a new cohesive pantheon.

How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all? That too. Perfect case, first-approximation then. I did say it was rough XD
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?Nice work you did there on the pantheon, SOCR; my hat's off to you (or it would be, were I actually wearing a hat at this moment).
The Danse Macabre Codex—shrugs—
So you did. Nice and neat... sorta.
—cackles to self—
Many a Straight Man is here to work with. Including yours, if I'm not mistaken, SOCR.
"He could not know it. For it was not all a joke."*She would have absolutely no idea what was going on, but when she found out, she'd probably think Martin so brilliant he deserved to get off scot-free. Depending on how the two interact with each other, she may subtly tip the scales in his favor....

How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?Indeed; there is a lot of potential to be had for their interactions, I must say.
Well, gents, it's quarter to midnight, I've got class again tomorrow evening and my battery's getting low; I think I'll call it a night shortly.
The Danse Macabre CodexNo, wait, what about my applicaionnnnnnn.
Curses.
-looks around, notes thread-
Oh, uh, hi. If I'm lucky, I'll be joining as Balor of the Evil Eye.
Added to the chart, though as fascinated as I am with Irish mythology, I am at a complete loss as to what functions Balor may serve.
How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?![]()
I posted a response to your application in the sign-up thread more than half an hour ago, Hydrall; notify me when you've made the edits, and I'll accept Balor.
And with that, I bid you all goodnight. Here, have something to tide yourselves over until my return:

Hesitating between Greco-Roman and Mesopotamian.
Will the mortals be able to impose their will when they're not too powered?
