PS. That's a misprint. It's coming out 2021, not 2012.

This is still a signature.Nuns. No sense of humor.
Jonah FalconOh, come now, Jonah, this is Bethesda we're talking about. Not 3DRealms/Apogee.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelSame developer (Hot Head), but apparently Prey 2 has been in development for a while already. Rumor is they're using the id Tech 4 engine (Doom 3's engine.)
Jonah FalconWell, they are a small studio, but they better try to get it out before Rage comes out.
Though, like I said in another thread, Prey 2's content would probably not be immediately committed to GPL.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI just recently got my May issue of Game Informer and I saw the article on the game. Being a mild fan of the first game, I became intrigued with the Blade Runner-esque screenshots.
I am pretty damn hyped after reading the article. Lets see: a semi open-world FPS with side quests in addition to the overarching plot that already intrigues me... set on an alien planet thats basically Cyber Punk haven? Plus, the fact that the developer has stated they will not include multi-player due to them wanting to focus on the single-player experience?
Oh hell yes. Count me in.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. Not liking how the premise was changed so that the hero has what appears to be a generic background.
On the other hand... the typical white male military type becoming a bounty hunter / private investigator? Potential!
I don't think a U.S Air Marshal who was present on the airplane that was abducted prior to the events of Prey (which was mentioned in a news report in the game, and the plane wreckage could be found on the ship) who happens to, after attempting to survive an alien horde on the mother ship and failing, essentially, be an unconscious, autonomous robot for an undisclosed time, somehow becoming a bounty hunter on an alien world, now fully conscious and aware of what situation he is in, attempts to discover what happened during the time-gap since his last time being "awake" whilst also trying to make himself a name as a bounty hunter doesn't necessarily sound generic to me.
If they execute the idea well, this could be a damn fine game.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific Mackerel^ My words exactly.
Must play first game before release.
The first game was okay. Wasn't great. Am looking forward to the sequel though.
The trailer made no sense though, how did the airplane scene connect to the futuristic human bounty hunter scene?

The Blood God's design consultant.^I guess you'll have to find out in the game.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelThe Deputy Air Marshall badge shown in both should've clued you in.
"Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person that doesn't get it."Yeah, but that still doesn't explain how we go from "cybernetic aliens that kidnap an entire airplane and get annihilated by a Native American" to "Air-Marshall-Turned-Bounty-Hunter on a Mass Effect-esque planet."
Mind you, that's assuming that the aliens in the first trailer are the same ones from the first game.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelThe theory I have is that the kid from the aiplane teaser picks up the Marshall's badge, finds out he has arrived on a slaver's outpost on the moon, is taken and spends the next seven years working at an alien mine with the badge as his singular possession, escapes and kills five guards with his bare hands, and becomes a interstellar bounty hunter in order to hunt down the slaver captain who has his girlfriend.

The Blood God's design consultant.I really like the atmosphere it's like a cyberpunk version of Mass Effect. Dunno what to expect with gameplay I mean I hope it's not more cover based regen health stuff.
Looks like Deus Ex meets Star Wars meets Assassin's Creed.
This pleases me.
Do not be so quick to make foolish offers, Daemon. Araghast too once thought I would be an asset to his cause. Look what has become of him. From what I gathered from various articles the plot is supposed to be something like this:
You are an U.S Air Marshal, your plane get kidnapped by aliens during the events of the first game. The aliens find you, and transform you into a mind-controlled cyborg. Lights go out.
????
Lights go back on. You regained your free will. Yay!!! But half of your body is made out of organic metals and various weapons, you are in some kind of alien metropolis, and you have no idea where you are, what you were doing during the "black-out" or how long did it last.
And the plot of Prey 2 is you trying to figure it out.
Has a compulsive editing and re-editing disorder.Oh, and somehow you meet up with the lead of the first game. Don't forget that. : D
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987All I think of when I see this game is Stranger's Wrath in the future.
I loved Stranger's Wrath.
“My body is ready. I’m gonna take your names, take your ass, and then we’ll be making games”. - Reggie Fils-Aime, CEO of Nintendo AmericaMe too, pity that the PC version is a mess however.
