Having recently found the Mirrors Reflect Everything trope, I was wondering if mirrors (or indeed shiny surfaces) reflecting things like magic spells would count as examples.

I understand that the trope is restricted to non-justified examples, but in situations involving magic we can't be sure whether magic should be reflected or not, we can only be sure that magic will often bounce off ordinary mirrors, when logically it should affect them like regular inanimate objects.

Is Mirrors Reflect Spells a subtrope that is lacking in examples at the moment, should we consider spells reflecting off shiny surfaces a universal law of magic, should it be on a case by case basis depending on the way magic ordinarily appears to function in a work... or have I missed a trope?

I'm going to go with having it be a part of Mirrors Reflect Everything. It doesn't sound distinct enough to be its own trope. If you do wish to develop it as a potential trope, however, you need to use YKTTW as noted in the pinned thread at the top of this forum.
