As long as it doesn't require perma-internet connection, which I've heard rumored, I'll be happy.

[up]Pretty sure it's just a rumor. Although Microsoft has made some dumb decisions in the past, they're smart enough to realize that a significant portion of their playerbase doesn't care about online play or simply doesn't have a strong enough connection for XBL. A good example being myself, just two years ago.

The same exact rumor was aimed at the PS 4.

Actaully if anything, it seems that is the main thing for Xbox. Never have I heard the Xbox 360 get mentioned without some sort of link with Xbawk Live.

Actually, NO. It's always been something associated with Sony, with all their anti-rental tech patents.

...And to go even further back, Jonah, some of them have even thought of adding in restriction codes or required online system "checks" on the current-gen consoles as a means of combating piracy. Hell, it's probably the exact same reason why the new rumor has been floating around in the first place.

Anyway, Micorosoft (and Sony) are not going to implement a system that cuts them off from a good chunk of their customers who don't connect their consoles to the interwebs.

[up]Well I'm definately one of them. The fact that XBL thinks Guam doesn't exist and doesn't even have a workaround for us to use our credit cards on makes matters worse. Only choice you've got is to either buy a XBL online pass card at Gamestop, create a fake billing address, or use a state-side or military APO/FPO friend's address to charge your account.

And unfortunately for me, I tried to get around that fact by using Hong Kong SAR as my address, since's it's the only country not to require a zip-code and takes any sort of address system when filling out the account info. Turns out that was a bad choice, because now my XBL account is stuck as Hong Kong SAR and will now only show me Chinese gamesites and servers. Can't switch it back either, since the options menu is now stuck in Mandarin, and the US support service is full of idiots who either completely ignore my question or tell me something that the previous several customer support techs told me (it's pretty clear that they don't read the previous tech's solutions after my experience).

"We know all about the next xbox from someone who says they've got one"

"from someone who says they've got one"

Does it have an actual source somewhere? Because I am not clicking the link otherwise.

[up][up]If that's the case then it sounds pretty similar to the Wii U, actually. The main touchpad controller had a camera built in, and the motion sensor was to be placed at the base or top of your TV and came with the system as well.

Now, if all of a sudden the next X Box has a freaking touchpad controller design as well, then all I've gotta say is that it's high time Nintendo pressed a lawsuit or found a way to stop them from copy-catting their ideas. They did it with the Xbox avatars, the Kinect system, and even the Wii-Fit exercise game craze.

The difference is that you can turn the camera off on the Wii U and not every game uses it. This sounds like every game uses it and you get no say in the matter. Combine this with an always on internet connection and you could have problems.

I really wonder if M Soft was planning to removed use gaming, but the um overwhelming negative reaction made them change their minds.

When I hear people say Microsoft is the worst company I go back and respond with "Blah blah blah Console War blah.". Especially when they say anything Microsoft makes ruins the gaming industry.

Though 720 is an interesting name, not as catchy as 360, but unique. Next Xbox should be 510, with a cool orange and black coloring.

Oh, and if this requires online to play I'll be pissed. Out of all the dumbest marketing plans, that would be in the top 5.

I originally was a Microsoft fan in the console wars, but the paid for online, the exclusives I didn't care about, and other crap shifted me to Sony.

But I prefer PC over all 3 of my consoles.

Eh, master race.

I take no side in the thing, but I believe that Xbox 360 would win in a barfight against PS 3, but it would come out with the red ring of death.
