There is a definite trend in Japan to buy Japanese products first and yes it is a racist attitude. Japan is only for the Japanese is standing policy really, it's pretty much why immigration is next to non-existent.
Microsoft does tend to throw money to get console exclusives there to try and get at least some fanbase there. Which has actually caused a pretty hardcore console shooter fanbase to spring up, however Sony seems to have been cornering the market on that by snatching up Destiny, Overwatch and some others as PS console exclusives.
At least Famitsu loved Halo 5 or at least Famitsu loved Microsoft's money lol.

The best selling Vita game in Japan is a Microsoft game. Give them something they like, and even Japan will fall for the west.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Tell that to the actually really good Japanese developed 360 games that didn't sell consoles and well The Idolmaster.

I would, but A) I don't even have an Xbox. All I got is a Wii U and a PS 3.
(Hypocrite!)
Yes. And B), out of curiosity, there has never been any attempt to localize this "iDOLM@STER" thing you speak of, right? Mainly because, to the best of my knowledge, Americans avoid that kind of stuff like the Plague, the Kardashians, and the Nazis rolled into one?

The Idolmaster was the 360's big system exclusive get in Japan, it was suppose to be the big system seller but nope not even hit idols can sell an Xbox there. Heck not even HD Boobs and Bikinis could sell it.
In the west as far as The Idolmaster goes all we get are the animes and costumes in Tales Of Xillia and Tales Of Zestria. Recently we have been getting some of the other idol type games so someday maybe.

The situation wasn't nearly this bad in Japan before. Here are the JP Xbox launches/LTD sales.
- Xbox: 123,929/500,000
- Xbox 360: 62,135/1.6 million
- Xbox One: 23,562/59,222
One might reach 100,000 when all is said and done. Or maybe not. Would certainly take awhile when selling 200 a week.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. It may be worth considering that the Xbox One is rather large in terms of physical size, especially compared to the PS 4 and Wii U, which is a legitimate practical concern in Japan. Setting aside cultural issues and technological arguments, lots of people in Japan simply don't have room for an Xbox One.
PSN ID: FateSeraph Congratulations! She/TheyIs it really that much bigger than a PS 4? That parallelogram is pretty big.
Huh. Well then.
Still, the physical size of the box is not really the most pertinent problem with the Xbox One or home consoles in particular in Japan. It's all the size required to play one, especially with other people. From what I understand, most Japanese homes just aren't set up with an area where a good console setup can fit.
Never mind the amount of space you need for the Kinect.
Figured I'd go ahead and bump this for some big news:
Of course, it’s up to game developers to support this feature, and Xbox Live players will always have the option of choosing to play only with other Xbox Live players. We’re thrilled to confirm that Psyonix’s Rocket League will be one of the first games to take advantage of this new capability by enabling cross-network play between Xbox One and PC players, with an open invitation for other networks to participate as well.
Several rumors incoming:

Here's the lowdown.
- Slim version announced at E3, launches in the Fall.
- "Scorpion," updated Xbox One, supposedly 4 times as powerful as classic, launches Fall to Holiday 2017.
- Scorpion will have Oculus support.
- Xbox One will be itierative.
- Xbox Media Streaming Stick (Think Chromecast)
- XBO interface to be added to Windows 10.
- XBO/PC shared ecosystems.
- Updated controller.
Something tells me people aren't gonna be on board with the iterative console idea, even if this Scorpio thing is the most powerful console on the market.
What's iterative, in this context?
Instead of releasing consoles on a "generational" time scale like past years, they would release a newer version of the console every few years or so. Similar to the smartphone market, but hopefully not as frequent. Still not a fan of the idea.
Still a year and a half, but oh what I wouldn't give for an upgrade or at least a trade in.
Hell no!
I literally just got my 1TB Xbox One this past August.
I don't need a damn upgrade already. What about all the people that already have an Xbox One?
You can't get it wrong if it's the truth!Sweet, I'm glad we're getting new consoles sooner than we thought. We were already farther behind than we should've been when the consoles launched, we need more power. I'm also glad the X1 will no longer struggle with graphics and framerate, and in fact will be the most powerful console of them all. This just proves how we didn't need the Kinect, the X1 had to be less powerful in order to accommodate for it.
Author.I'm willing to bet that there's going to be a D Si/New 3DS situation with the PS 4 and Xbox One. You don't need to have the newer versions of the console, but some games might run better or only on them. Depending on the sales numbers for these upgraded consoles, the number of exclusive games will vary.
Undoubtedly Microsoft is going to have a launch game or two that will demonstrate the power of the Scorpio. I imagine Sony will do the same.
Author. If it's going to be that much more powerful, what's stopping Microsoft making it MUCH more expensive than the Xbone as well? Those kinds of things usually go together, after all.
It's been that at retailers for months. It's just official now.
Is it just me or did the Mirror's Edge Catalyst forum topic disappear?
I can't find it anywhere. I picked up my copy today and it is fantastic. Seriously deserves more praise than it got.
I also added Faith to my growing list of waifus.
You can't get it wrong if it's the truth!
That actually make sense. If I had the choice between my home country console and a different international console I'd pick my console every time. Why? Because I'm familiar with it. It has the games I want and it looks like something I want to have.
Microsoft's American style advertising appeals to me more than Nintendo's. That isn't to say I hate Nintendo, but I prefer another company over Nintendo.
Or something. I had a point but I don't know if I got to it.
