You really should read which thing you put the trope in.

Fight smart, not fair.I immediately thought of the phrase "Tip Of The Iceberg" but that is the name of a work.
No it's not. It's more than a YEAR and a half old.
It's old enough it has an archived discussion page from before the new discussion pages were implemented.
It's so old it's YKTTW no longer exists.

Yeah, rename by swapping with redirect. A Far More Sinister Plot is a much better name, and that's really all that's required.
Especially with overly-narrow names, which aren't likely to cause obvious misuse; instead, they tend to fail to get used when they should.
We rename tropes that don't have any obvious misuse all the time. Misuse is a glaring emergency that requires an immediate rename, but it's only one of many reasons why a trope might be renamed. "This name is clearly better" is another valid reason!

Part of the problem is that this is nearly an Omnipresent Trope in any cop- or detective-focused work, or any work with a plot focused around resolving a mystery. The Stakes Are Always Bigger might be another useful redirect.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"![]()
Blinding clarity does seem like an obvious way to combat underuse (which I agree we're seeing here). This gets my support. There does seem to be a little doubt about the rename, though, so, should we hook up a single-prop crowner?

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.
Crown Description:
Previous crowner

A Far More Sinister Plot - the redirect for Gonna Need A Bigger Warrant - strikes me as a better overall name for the concept behind this trope. That and many examples are of non-official investigations, which don't exactly make use of warrants. Can we make Gonna Need A Bigger Warrant the redirect instead?

Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.
