So are you just going to make a new post or edit the deamon post when ready? And any thoughts on how to twist Talking Animals a bit?
Life's Gonna Suck When You Grow Up... But Is It That Great Now?... Also I'm Skylark2 now.![]()
Descendants of ghosts?
Kami or totem animals are the closest we can go without getting narmy.
Ghosts are defined by their inability to interact with the living, even though they see everything they do, and it would be unwise to completely break out of this unless we were going for Comedy.
Manifestation?
You said it had to be before puberty, right?
I'd say we go for the pain route then.

Talking Animals?
Ya, but not as much as I'd like.
I'll gather ideas.
That's pretty easy to justify with the process of magical Catabolism
you described earlier.
I'm not sure if you're testing me, or if you're just "too close" to the project to see all its potential.
Which kind of Power Level would those neo-gods have?

And not all ghosts in folklore are unable to interact with humans. Still I think there should be a bloodline with connections to the afterlife. And I think I am "to close to the project to see it's potential" as you phrase it. And what do you mean by the pain route? And what time frame do you think the demon bloodline thing will be complete? I'd really like to move on.

So, like Poseidon, Susanoo or Lakshhmi?
Fine, we can do that!
Prepare for some of your readers to cry "Heresy!", okay?
Which spirits are those?
"Some connection to the afterlife"?
Fine, that's doable. Not typing up anything here for now since it (naturally) delays the completion of the other pieces that are already there. Only two hours at most.

So why does the System lend itself to A God Am I? Please use words for dumb people like Me. And still what do you imagine a kid gaining magic is like?
Life's Gonna Suck When You Grow Up... But Is It That Great Now?... Also I'm Skylark2 now.- shadowed eyes, zoom on sardonic smile*
- look up, eye flash*
How far can a normal mage teleport?
How many people are aware of the realness of gods?
How many people (especially magic users) pray?
Are the gods as good as they claim to be?
How fast is the average casting time of a spell in a neutral environement?
Is the use of words unnecessary, optional, or necessary?
What about gestures?
Do you have to understand what a (mid-level) spell does in order to use it?
How easy is mindcontrol?
Also, what is the general outline of your plot, if I might ask? You said there's little fighting.

Pretty far, although not far enough to cross an ocean in one go, in fact there are teleportation "routes", chains of islands that can be used for cross continental journey's. Every witch has at least some knowledge of the gods, some worship them, some don't. Witches are often Gnostic. And how good the gods are varies depending on which one your talking about, Zeus is apparently nicer than he's made out to be, while the plot of the first book involves Baldur using emotionally damaged, magically precocious, eleven year olds to bring forth a symbolic Ragnorak. For the average spell cast by the average magic user in a average environment, it takes five seconds to cast. The use of words can be helpful when you need to clear your mind, as are gestures. Yes you need to understand what a spell does to use it. And mind control hardness depends on the skill of who's doing it and the will and powers of the victim. It's harder to use on witches and other magical life than normal people, harder to use on the insane since their psychology isn't standard.
Life's Gonna Suck When You Grow Up... But Is It That Great Now?... Also I'm Skylark2 now. They are Uplifted Animals? Spread by The Virus? or is that too much like Our Werewolves Are Different?
perhaps it's my line of sight mind working but, witches are vulnerable to different elemental magic? or just elements?
paper, porcelain, toys (inanimate objects), bone, and lightning come to mind.
edit: clarity added

It's kind of weird since magic is hereditary but if the characters get the chance to become gods mayhap it happend before and that's where the gods came from?
probably the same way other things have evolved over time, becoming more useful such as technology starting with simple tools with less than one horse power (human), geting more complicated such as cars, being remote controllable, then driving themselves.

To answer your question a mix of Inherent Gift (Witch Species) and Background Magic Field (force magic) with Equivalent Exchange added for some reason.
Why ask though? it's not a scale or anything.
edited 16th Mar '11 11:05:09 PM by GiantSpaceChinchilla
Just curiosity. And where does the equivalent exchange come from?
Also if you use to much magic your body may dissolve into magic stuff.
Although in retrospect its closer to Cast from Hit Points

So how are the selkie witches going? And deamon bloods? And what do you think of the whole descendent of ghosts thing? Also any thoughts on the process of magical manifestion in children?
