-In short, the book translates as follows...-
"To those reading these words, look upon these words as they may be the last of my kind. Long ago in this world, these four fragments were in the four corners of the globe and our civilization was one, yet four. We were prosperous and many, able to live off the land no matter the location."
"Yet one day, our world began to shrink and fuse together as the planet beneath our feet began to fade away. Many were lost, yet there was a haven we could escape to. A stairway to the stars where we could dwell and be safe from our world below as it shrank and fused together."
"So to the traveller who knows our language and braved this world, if you've come this far to the four corners, the stairway to the stars will appear if one were to look to the Northern Skies. Perhaps one day, we may return but for now, may you prosper with your own legacy, traveller."
Hope you weren't expecting anything witty here. Maybe some day.

Esther: I...guess it isn't so bad when you put it like that...
" I did the right thing, didn't I? It all worked out in the end." "In the end? Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends."
