Or get violent about one of the contributors trying something new. Their overreaction to Spoony's one shot opening for the Mazes And Monsters review comes to mind.

It's already a given fact that TSE's fandom can border on creepily obsessive, to slightly psychotic. Which the "Spoony Fans Say the Stupidest Shit" columns on BS are dedicated to pointing out.
Anyways, another topic: Throughout the past 1,005 posts on this thread, the consensus towards BS's style of critique is that; The criticism towards webshows is warranted, and they bring up some good points. But a number of you feel that it's the way they critique that causes such a problem. That their more focused on using personal insults or attacks on be it reviewers or the fans, rather than actual criticism, which they claim to stand up for.
Long story short: If you feel their are ways that BS could improve itself so as to stop people misinterpreting it as a hate site, what would be your suggestions?
I'd go for less boring shit. A lot of the blog posts are just stretching for material.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.I'd really like less personal attacks. Ad hominem is a known logical flaw in a debate. Your credibility also sinks in seconds when done. I also think that making rude jokes to the level of a R-rated seltzer and friedberg film could be changed.
Every one should aslso be based on research and facts. The one about Matthew stealing Botchamania was a great one. Saying that Doug took some charity money was an awful lie.
It's possible to insult someone without invoking ad hominem.
If hypothetically you say, "The moon is made of cheese,"
- I could say "You're an idiot. The Moon isn't made of cheese. We have moon rocks all over the world, and a moon made out of cheese would require the milk to come from somewhere. There are no free floating bodies of milk in the cosmos to be converted into that much cheese." This would not be an ad hominem.
- If I said, "You only believe the Moon is made of cheese because the Nostalgia Critic said so" I would be invoking ad hominem.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.I'll come clean. I'm the guilty party when it came to that last post that got ripped to shreds. Go ahead, stone me.
In all seriousness, I find it funny that they found my post through my tweets. I honestly had no idea people paid attention to those. And to be fair, I can see where they're coming from when they want honest reviews...but to me, honesty isn't always the best policy. You're too honest about everything, you're gonna eventually sound up yourself. Take South Park for instance - to me, it's not so much a comedy show anymore as a tract for the author's own opinions. When I want honesty, I'll listen to the commentaries or behind the scenes videos. For yuks, I'll watch the videos, expecting to gain nothing out of watching them except maybe a cheap laugh.
And I'll admit, I do feel a little guilty for enjoying these kinds of shows. Especially considering the fact that I'm in stitches every time I see Dr. Insano onscreen, even if everyone else hates him. But then again, I wonder if BS understands guilty pleasures.
And no, I'm not an obsessive fanboy. I only watch two shows on a regular basis, NC and AT 4 W. There are shows I don't take interest in, because I don't care that much for the latest video games, anime or manga. Would I go to meet Doug Walker if he came to a convention near where I lived? Hell yeah! But sexual thoughts or slash fic/art? Not my thing. Outside of the videos on TGWTG, I have plenty of interests, like music, and movies. And I don't take everything said as the gospel - I enjoy the first Mortal Kombat movie, Jingle All the Way and Batman & Robin as guilty pleasures, contrary to what The Nostalgia Critic or Doug says.

Yes, I could open my counterargument with "Listen up, pigfucker" and it wouldn't be an ad hominem. It's antagonizing anyone neutral and on my opponent's side actually interested in a debate, it's undermining my position because the opponent has automatically the high ground if not a bigger jerk than myself and it sounds like I'm 14 years old but it's not a fallacy.
That said, I like openness and honesty in a debate. The point gets lost when everyone is tiptoeing around anything that might sound rude or offensive like they'd get wished into the cornfield otherwise. But from what I've seen on BS till now, it's rarely poignant, direct and especially not funny. It's like the kind of debate you hear between douchebag frat boys when the first keg is already empty.

You know, the internet might be vast, but people can still here you scream. It's the reason people go all OMFG when people post their sexual preferences and other private matters. You really should think before you post, even if you don't think anyone is going to read it.
@tolchok: What AHR said.
@Ana: In regards to humor, I think they've more than once admitted they do find fault in some of the material written and that their not trying to be funny. I guess it's a sort of "Yeah, we suck, but at least we admit". And doesn't expect to be taken seriously or treated as if their something special. If people do take them seriously, that's when everything goes wrong.
If you want to ask them about your points directly: Busy Street Blog@gmail.com.
Who knows, maybe they'll post your argument in one of their articles.

I prefer Busy Street over That Guy With The Glasses, also I laughed at this

http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/ http://sagan4.com/forum/index.phpFigured. Well, let's see if I can' rack my brain for two cents, though...
I've never liked Busy Street. I think they take the whole internet reviewing thing far too seriously, are far too venomous in delivering their arguments for anyone's mind to ever be changed, I think they hurt their chances of anyone ever listening to them, and I would rather watch the people they hate than a bunch of parasites(BS) bashing people for a rather harmless activity. Those are my two cents in a nutshell.

I don't really know how to make a coherent argument regarding why I like That Guy With The Glasses and hate Busy Street other than "I like TGWTG and Busy Street are a bunch of jerks for opposing them."

Why I am afraid of fences.Oh, believe me, I have points of contension with TGWTG.com as well, but I can list them without claiming they stole charity money or calling Iron Liz a man.
One: they site set-up needs work. It's too slow.
Two: They need a less clustered design.
Three: Why on God's green earth does Blip work so slowly and You Tube work so quickly?
Well, I've been following this thread without reading an actual Busy Street article, so I decided to read this one, due to it being linked on Busy Street's trope page.
It might be just my bias showing here, but it wasn't a very well written article. Two of the reasons are basically "it pisses people off", some of them are trying to take his faults and make them into advantages over certain other reviewers, one of them doesn't make any sense ("Irate Gamer Cameos help a story along?" How would that help a video game review?) and the number one reason is a fall back on the "TGWTG stole donation money" crutch. It's less an argument for the Irate Gamer than a lame attempt to bash TGWTG.
On a positive note, this article makes me think that it would be easy to make a parody Busy Street article, just start with the charity drive controversy and run from there.
This hand of mine is burning red! It's glow is calling me to defeat you!For those still unsure: This
pretty much represents what BS feels about the "Angry Reviwer" craze, and its issue with TGWTG all in one article.
Now the challenge I have for you: See if you can and point out whatever flaws you feel are to bet that found in that article, in order to make an appropriate, and polite, counter-argument.

But Busy Street act like TGWTG will delete/ban any dissenting opinion and that's not true. The Critic's "Top 11 Fuck Ups" had him saying "Keep on pointing out the flaws in my work because it's the only way I'll learn." * The people that get banned are the ones who insulted Scarlett/Noah's friends, keep on being bastards in the forums or make a lot of sexual trolling towards the women.
