"Starting next month, I will be drawing a Shadow manga for Coro Coro.
It's a title with a long history, but I'll do my best to make it enjoyable for children who are seeing it for the first time. Look forward to it"
Keeping the game in bundles exclusively seems like a good way to keep it available while making sure somebody doesn't get the older version by mistake.
My musician pageShame they didn't feel like doing that for the RO Ms of Sonic 1, 2 and 3K they used to have.
Are explosions science? There's that odd arcade game, Sega Sonic the Hedgehog, that you played with a track ball and started Mighty and Ray. To my knowledge it's never seen a re release, probably because of its unusual control scheme.
"That we continue to persist at all is a testament to our faith in one another."I've noticed an uptick in people misusing the phrase "lost media" to mean "no longer in print and can't buy a new legal copy from the publisher" instead of the actual meaning "literally can't be found anywhere legally or illegally and no one knows where a copy might be if any even still exist at all."
There's gotta be some downloads for the old Java games like Unleashed or the early Sonic at the Olympic games.
Your melody still remains in this room and it ringsActually, wasn't there a cancelled SatAM game for Genesis that no one had the ROM for? Did anything ever happen with that one?
Your melody still remains in this room and it ringsYeah, that's it. Is that one still considered lost?
Your melody still remains in this room and it ringsI feel like "lost media" is becoming the new popular term everyone misuses to hell and back. I've seen it happen with "ludonarrative dissonance" and "liminal spaces" and "uncanny" after all.
Anyway yeah I guess that sonic Sat AM game counts since there hasn't been a single ROM file of it on the interwebs yet.
Are explosions science? As far as "what Sonic games can't be bought on Steam, Switch, PS4/5, or current Xbox?" I think this is everything outside some phone games:
- SegaSonic the Hedgehog - was only in arcades, never been ported because of difficulties with emulating the trackball controls
- Knuckles' Chaotix - has never been rereleased in any way, I can only assume it's because Sega doesn't want to put work into 32X emulation just for this one game
- Sonic the Fighters - hasn't had a stand-alone release or part of a collection since the PS3/360 port, although apparently it's present and fully playable in the in-game arcades in the game Lost Judgement so technically StF is available on Steam, PS5, and Xbox.
- Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn version) - the original Genesis version is available on Steam, but the Saturn port which changed a lot of things has only ever been on Saturn and old 1997 PC port.
- Sonic R - has only been released on Saturn, an old 1998 PC port, and as part of Sonic Gems Collection on Gamecube and PS2
- Sonic Pocket Adventure - never been rereleased, possibly some rights issues with SNK, possibly just they don't want to put work into making a Neo Geo Pocket emulator
- Sonic Shuffle - around here games stop being so easy to port or emulate as part of some collection so there's starts being a lot of games that have never been rereleased
- Sonic Advance 1, 2, & 3 - only rereleases have been on the Wii U Virtual Console in Japan only
- Sonic Pinball Party
- Sonic Battle
- Sonic Heroes - the PC port isn't available digitally and is out of print and it's only been rereleased as a downloadable PS2 game on PS3
- Shadow the Hedgehog
- Sonic Rush & Rush Adventure
- Sonic Riders - the PC port isn't available digitally and is out of print and hasn't had any rereleases since
- Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
- Sonic Rivals 1 & 2
- Sonic and the Secret Rings
- Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
- Sonic Chronicles - probably would never be rereleased anytime soon because of Pender's lolsuit
- Sonic Unleashed - hasn't been ported or rereleased at all (although people have modded all the day stages into the PC port of Generations)
- Sonic and the Black Knight
- Sonic Free Riders - hasn't been ported or rereleased at all (and since it requires the Kinect you can't really emulate it either)
- Sonic Colors (DS) - the main console version has the Ultimate port, but the handheld version hasn't been rereleased in anyway
- Sonic Generations (3DS) - the main console version got the PC port, but the handheld version hasn't been rereleased
- Sonic Lost World (3DS) - same
- all three Sonic Boom games - there's probably little desire or demand to port these
- any Mario & Sonic at the Olympics games before Tokyo 2020 - Sega probably can't even port these now that their deal with the Olympics is done so they're always going to be stuck on their original console

I always wonder if there is ever a Neo Geo Color Pocket Selection Vol. 3, that they should include Sonic Pocket Adventure as that is highly requested game.
I've been watching Michaela Laws' playthrough of Slay the Princess because I've been on an StP kick lately, and a comment in its first video
found a coincidental comparison to Sonic and the Black Knight.
- Sonicsgirl13: You're not wrong, Mikki. The Narrator is absolutely sus. He gives no real reason to kill the princess, the knife that was upstairs suddenly appears AFTER THE DOOR WAS CLOSED AND LOCKED, the scenery of the cabin changes with each chapter AND REMOVES THE MIRROR AFTER HE DESCRIBED IT AS A WALL. The narrator is a bastard that refuses to let the story end; no story, no narrator. This sounds like another character from a different game; Merlina from Sonic and the Black knight. She was terrified of the story/her world ending so she did everything in her power to keep it going forever... even becoming a villain because of it. However, unlike the narrator here, Merlina was convinced and accepted the end of the story, albeit tears in her eyes.
Michaela herself goes into a tangent concidentally similar to Sonic's at the end of Black Knight in her third video
(warning: starts at a major spoiler moment).
So, for some Wild Mass Guessing fun: how do you think your choice of Sonic characters would approach the scenario in Slay the Princess if they were suddenly dropped in the player character's position?
A genuine effort?
Shadow and Omega would do it, and get the "happy" ending.
Sonic would get "The Stranger" ending. For fairly obvious reasons.
Knuckles would get "The adversary" ending.
Rouge would get "The Prisoner"
Amy would get "The Damsel" (Idealized)
Cream would get "The Damsel" (Loving)
Tails would get "The Beast"
Blaze would get "The Thorn"
Espio would get "The Prisoner"
Vector would get "The Grey" (Drowned)
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Eggman would get the Bad ending..."The 5 Stages"

I figure that Eggman would pretty much get the opposite of Sonic's ending and the punishment of that seems appropriate.
