This is fun
. They're doing a daily poll on what the best iteration of each character is.
Wow, some of those results are throwing me. Obscure Wii title Black Knight is apparently peak Sonic.
Meanwhile '06 evidently turned in the supreme portrayal of Shadow beating out both Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog. I guess Maria can go fuck herself; The audience has spoken and they like Mephiles more.
Other results make more sense. Sonic Adventure 2 is Tails's best appearance? Yeah, that makes sense. I can absolutely see why people would call that the apex of Tails showings. I don't know if I agree; I haven't thought about it too too much. But I might agree with that.
And the Sonic 2 film turns in a better Knuckles than any game or comic ever has in the history of his character? That's quite a statement, to be sure. But again, I can see it. Idris Elba's Knux is fucking delightful, so while I don't personally agree that he's Better Than Canon, I can see why other people would feel that way.
EDIT: Also, Unleashed Eggman is the best Eggman? This is Frontiers erasure. (I'm also partial to Boom Eggman.)

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I haven't played Black Knight, but while the gameplay is controversial, the plot and writing are meant to be fantastic.
I predicted Film Knuckles would win, and would personally agree (though Adventure Knuckles and certain versions of Prime Knuckles would be close, though that last one might not count since they are alternate versions).
What would you say was best Amy? I like Frontiers Amy, but actually think Boom Amy (from the show at least) is the best, yeah she's (intentionally) flanderised (that's not a criticism, that's part of the point of the show), but she mixes all of Amy's characterisations (caring, crush on Sonic, composed but slightly unstable) really well.

Yes, people absolutely LOVE Shadow's portrayal in 06. He finally stopped being a little angsty boi and shows him not following any old villain. Compare his own game, with "Well if he says he knows the truth about who I am, then like it or not I have to believe him" to 06, where he tells Mephiles to fuck off for trying to manipulate him. Even Adventure 2 proposes the idea that post-ARK raid Gerald implanted fake memories to MAKE Shadow get revenge. 06 finally lets him be his own hog.
Not surprised on that one, as it's the game that basically sits the player down and says "this is Sonic's mantra, good or bad, and how that mentality works" instead of just being a character trait that is in the background.
Sonic's free-spirited "live life to the fullest" ideal is kinda resonant that some can get behind

Found the IDW cover I mentioned before.
It probably is less about speed than I thought/remembered.
@TobiasDrake- The funny thing about Eggman is that is Sonic Adventure 2 portrayal was the one with the most comments. But Unleashed won out because of a particular comment that got the highest amount of upvotes (524, as of this writing). I haven't played Frontiers nor seen many cutscenes involving Eggman to know for certain how good he is in that game, but I think SA2 and/or Unleashed are still among the best.
As one of the more outspoken Amy fans, I feel that she was at her best in Sonic Adventure 1. That game really fleshed Amy out from a mere lovestruck damsel-in-distress to a bubbly and spunky girl who still openly loves Sonic (flirting with him and such) but more than anything wants to live a life of adventure just like him, all the while doing her best to protect a lost little Flicky with limited combat experience. Something which, at the end of her story, Amy resolves to address to become more independent and impress Sonic.
Incidentally, Adventure 1 was competing with IDW for best version of Amy in her Reddit post. Like, IDW Amy managed to edge out the win ever so slightly. Though I don't mind lol I can agree that, as of right now, it's one of Amy's better portrayals in recent media; much better than Boom and Frontiers, if I may be so bold. Only thing I didn't like about IDW Amy was how she was written to be a levelheaded, no-nonsense strategic leader in the first 30 issues (in other words, the opposite of her established character).
Like I said in my comment for the post, Advance 2 was a really strong debut for Cream that established her as a polite and timid child who nonetheless wouldn't hesitate to go on a dangerous adventure to rescue her mother, and have a fun time doing so. Something which very few games/media afterwards would follow up on... -_- With that said, I do think Battle and Dream Team are just as good, if not better, with Cream; the latter especially, considering it pretty much revived Cream from being in the bus. And regardless, I'm just glad that IDW wasn't deemed the "best Cream" cause, as I also explain in my comment, that version of Cream is honestly really bad outside of the Metal Virus Saga.
STC Amy was a level headed second in command of the Freedom Fighters so it was a surprise meeting game Amy for the first since I thought that all versions of a character would have the same personality and weapons and abilities so I expected the characters to be the same as the ones that I was introduced to.
"May your heart be your guiding key"Apparently,
Kirk Thornton can't say what was his favorite moment to voice Shadow because he's "under an NDA."
Sounds like Sonic X Shadow Generations might end up blowing us away.

I finally got around to doing Knuckles' campaign in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. It was actually better and more distinct from Sonic's campaign than I was expecting.
Also I kinda wish Perfect Chaos was split between Classic and Modern Sonic in Generations since Classic Sonic only gets two bosses (aside from the Final Boss) and because it's inbetween the Classic and Modern Eras. I dunno if that would work lorewise (since Modern Sonic being able to defeat Perfect Chaos without Super Sonic is a feat that shows his growth over time) but it would be cool.

Once Upon A Time.@Kaotic Kanine Oh well, if Adventure 1 was very close, then I don't mind the reddit poll.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Played a bit more of Frontiers - Final Horizon tonight. The paths to Tails' objectives are really obtuse. But, if you have the Cyclone, you can pretty much just go wherever the hell you want. I think all that's left is for me to fly up to the Tails emerald, then I can do the Master King tower and trial, and the final boss, and that's it.
Replayed Sonic Frontiers so it's all fresh in mind before starting the new free upgrade stuff. I'm on Ouranos Island right now and they're like, "Go through this portal for the new stuff."
So. I have a question. I want to complete Ouranos Island and beat the game the normal way, then go back and do the portal. Am I shooting myself in the foot by doing that? I know the big appeal of the portal stuff is getting to play as Knux, Amy, and Tails. I remember that from the DLC roadmap thing that Sega put out when the game was freshly released.
Do they get their own dedicated space to run around and do things in? Or does it just, like, unlock them for Ouranos Island? Because if the stuff on Ouranos Island is the stuff you're supposed to do with the new playable characters then I don't want to complete this island and leave myself with nothing to do with them.

@Numbuh 1234 The Blue Sphere stages have the medals. Gold if you get all the rings.
And, yeah. Origins has the Mission Mode. Though I haven't done them all yet and I probably won't.
