I've also played Dream Team. I can say that it plays great, though a controller is "optional" only technically. I've done everything there is to do in it so far including 10,000 points from Tails' Challenges.
I couldn't provide a reason as to why I did that last part, or why anyone else would.
My musician pageFor anyone who hasn’t had the game, Tails’ challenges are individual missions, about a minute each, that refresh each week. There are five at a time, each giving 50 points, with a 150 point bonus for clearing all a week’s challenges. So that makes 25 weeks to get 10,000 points.
My musician pageGlad to hear positive things from people who have played it! I will also get it if it is released on anything else (read: PC, or Android phones).
Here's a thought: assign up to 10 skill points to characters, in either Speed, Flight, and Power (max 5 in any one stat), based on what they can do on their own without outside help. This stems from me thinking that Amy is about as much of a Power character as she is a Speed one.
Sonic:
- Speed: 5
- Flight: 1 (2, if Light Speed Dash is treated as a Sonic exclusive move)
- Power: 3
Tails:
- Speed: 4
- Flight: 4 (5 if he has infinite flight)
- Power: 1
Knuckles:
- Speed: 2
- Flight: 3
- Power: 5
Amy:
- Speed: 4
- Flight: 2
- Power: 4
Rouge:
- Speed: 1 or 2? (There is a comic alt cover, that I'll pull up when I'm home, that roughly has characters playing a racing game ranked on speed... But Rouge is definitely cheating)
- Flight: 5
- Power: 3
Cream:
- Speed: ?
- Flight: 4
- Power: 1 (Cheese is probably a 3)
Shadow:
- Speed: 5
- Flight: 1
- Power: 4
Shadow proves he has a sense of humour, and Sonic....got his ass kicked. Though by what, I have no clue.
But seriously. What the hell was Sonic fighting in that comic?
One Strip! One Strip!- Speed: 5
- Flight: 1 (2, if Light Speed Dash is treated as a Sonic exclusive move)
- Power: 3
Replaying Frontiers right now makes me want Sonic's Flight to be a 2 or 3.
Some of these challenges take some pretty insane aerial maneuverability.
In seriousness, stat balance is hard and those are some good looking stats.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I don't know, it's like me and Sonic Mania...I want to finish it, but I don't like it as much as the games in Sonic Origins.
Maybe because I never like Sonic games' reliance on Gameplay Grading.
But I got the 2-pack with Team Sonic Racing because I like that game better, even if I miss Cream and beating Expert races are haaaaard.
You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stayWhat I'm gathering from this exchange is that I would probably love it.
Your melody still remains in this room and it ringsOn the positive side, binging the series recently has given me a much bigger appreciation for the good games in this franchise. Especially the classics, of which I now understand what makes them so beloved (even if I still prefer Classic Mario). I was way too harsh on the franchise in the past.
Once Upon A Time.
I don't know how much of it is nostalgia (the GBA ports of Mario World and Mario 3 are damn near sacred early childhood games for me) and how much of it is just me just preferring Mario over Sonic. It's hard for me to compare the two on fair grounds.

I have something similar worked out for my "racing game where everyone races in the way most comfortable to them" idea. Except instead of 3 stats, it's 5, and they go from 1-7 in each (4 being average, every character has a stat total of 20).
- Sonic: Running, Stats: Speed: 7/7, Acceleration: 3/7, Traction: 4/7, Strength: 3/7, Durability: 3/7

I have more, but I'll stop there.

So it has been over 10 years since the last Dimps made Sonic game (Lost World 3DS). In that time Dimps has made Street Fighter V, Soul Calibur 6, and a bunch of Dragonball games including Xenoverse 1 and 2. And other studios have made Sonic games in their stead, like Headcannon with Mania, and Hardlight with Dream Team, but...
I'd like Dimps to come back for a game. Even (or especially) if it's a fighting game, and I've posted my thoughts on a roster for that before.
Also, has anyone here actually played Dream Team?
