In response to Devil Doom:
Not only does he leave the Chaos Emeralds behind when teleporting and (off-screen) transforming into Devil Doom, but during the battle he also directly says stuff like "how is it you're possibly able to injure me?!" and "I see, it seems I underestimated the power of the Chaos Emeralds" - both of which are statements that do not make sense if they're both using the same power source in the fight.
It still opens the question on why he didn't transform during his other boss fights if he had such a powerful transformation inside him? There is not even an in-game reason.
Besides, it wouldn't be the first time super form is able to injure another super form: Perfect Chaos, Ultimate Emerl, Solaris(?).
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Perfect Chaos and Super Sonic are using the same power source...
What about Doom's reaction prevents him from have having used the Emeralds?

I'm just seeing poor conveyance in the cutscene.

Not when the guy making the statements is effectively Word of God.
And I have to ask again, are people really so attached to those two lines of dialogue that it’s a really big deal?

Eh, Word of Saint Paul in this case. Remember he is not related to the game, he was told it was the case.

It appears to be the case, but who knows. He likely will write the cartoon that will come out with the game.
Villain Ball? Well, could be, but still.

But about Shadow, this could be worse.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I think they could reveal that the starfish is Doom's horcrux of sorts and when his main body died his mind fled into the starfish and got out of dodge. There's also the fact that if the Black Arms can invade without the comet actually being on the planet, that could leave the ones that had already landing unaccounted for
This isn't Sonic in itself, but I thought it was important to post because it's relevant to the conversation we were having a bit ago about game mechanics, especially having a multiplayer 3D racing game with on-foot Sonic-style gameplay.
I'm only just hearing about it, but it looks like an indie game that's essentially utilizing a mix of Boost-era and Adventure gameplay - basically looking like it wants to be the Modern / Adventure-era's Freedom Planet - with a few other game nods mixed in.
And they're trying to expand the multiplayer style Adventure 2 had, which I'll be really interested to see develop.

This is made by the Fan Devs who made Sonic GT...
Their own style is front and center here.

That's not the same "guy".
That guy made Sonic Utopia.

x 16: Perfect Chaos was explicitly shown using the Chaos Emeralds, and explicitly stated to be using them, and is making no statements to the contrary. In contrast, Black Doom isn't explicitly shown using them, makes no mention of using them, and expresses surprise at how powerful they are (since, as a reminder, he only wanted them as a means to teleport the Black Comet into Earth).
x 15: even ignoring that I am someone who doesn't go by Word of God, a Word of God statement shouldn't take priority over the actual in-media information if the two contradict.
That's too many arrows. Use quoteblocks, or link back to the other post, or something.
Well, this wasn't a Bumblekast, but the Encyclospedia thing. I think, I cannot confirm this, when asked about it on the podcast he said that was what Sonic Team said about it.
And besides, the guy will possibly maybe work on the Sonic X Shadow thing so maybe he knows something we don't.

Sonic will be casually listening to a snippet of it on the radio at the start of a scene.
