I think they should make another Sonic R, I think the ideal Sonic racing game would be one where all the characters compete in whatever way is most comfortable for them. Sonic runs, Shadow hover-skates, Eggman flies in his Eggmobile, Jet rides his hover-board, Rouge drives a car, Silver flies with telekinesis, etc.
We have a good idea who’s going to be Maria.
Alyla Browne…who looks like a spitting image of her.
Actually there is also the Sonic Rivals and there's tons of games with multiplayer racing modes.
There are racing multiplayer modes in:
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Sonic and Tails race at the same speed.
- Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Where characters actively had different stats including Sonic reaching top speed faster then everyone else.
- Sonic Heroes: One of the multiplayer modes.
- Sonic the Hedgehog: Again one of the multiplayer modes just like Adventure 2 and Heroes.
- Sonic Colors: A weird multiplayer where both race as Sonic robots.
- Sonic Rush: Link multiplayer racing, Sonic is a little faster than Blaze due to some of his moves.
- Sonic Rush Adventure: Link multiplayer racing same as before.
- Sonic Mania: Everyone is the same speed.
- Sonic Forces: Speed Battle: Mobile racing game where characters have different stats.
Also the Sonic Riders games, bar Kinect, allowed Sonic to race on foot, albeit he had to use special skate shoes instead of his normal ones. But he's still running off his own leg power.
Remember Rivals is "anything goes" Wacky Racing with various attacking and boost items such as the ability to shoot glue at the opponents legs, as well as short cuts for flying characters to use that Sonic cannot access.
Thats how Rouge and Silver beat Sonic.
I agree with that, the closest we have had is the first two Sonic Riders games as mentioned above.
I think Rouge would prefer something with which she could fly with own wings then a car, though.
Also people also forget that if Sonic really wants to limit himself, various games, including the infamous Sonic Labyrinth, show Sonic can wear shoes to slow down.

Those are all 2D runs through levels, and all of the games with multiplayer modes are likewise not designed like racing games, involving characters with little to no differences or uniqueness to them.
None of them are much like Sonic R.
2D racing games aren't especially popular (the only popular one I can think of in the last few years is Speedrunners, which was built to be cheap and simple), mostly because they tend to be fairly limited in what the players can see and do.

Sonic Adventure 2 and Heroes just use the characters...
They all have different stats.
In Adventure 2 Metal Sonic has black shield and no special moves.
Amy can't spin dash but gets her special moves faster via lower ring count, also she doesn't have chaos control...so her time stop doesn't stop the player from moving, just freezes their control.
Also every character has an alternate costume with different stats and changes their special moves property and condition.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.About Sonic X Shadow Generations, do you think Black Doom will have a speaking role in Shadow's campaign, and if so, will they have Sean Schemmel returning to do his English voice?
My guess is that Black Doom won't have a speaking role in Shadow's campaign.
Also, I hope Sonic X Shadow Generations will be a better port than Sonic Colors Ultimate.

If they do have Black Doom speaking, they might do the option of getting a soundalike VA, given that they tend to replace the whole vocal cast on a somewhat regular basis, outside of ones like Roger Craig Smith for Sonic and Mike Pollock for Eggman.
And I have cautious optimism for it being a good launch as it has Sonic Team developing it, indicating it's in-house this time, instead of farming it out to a different developer.
"That we continue to persist at all is a testament to our faith in one another."They all have different stats.

I believe Metal is faster and jumps higher than Sonic/Shadow, whilst Amy is slower and jumps the lowest, though Amy makes up for it with her easy specials.
Also in the Rivals games characters had entirely different abilities, I don't remember if they had different stats.
Sonic 3's racing mode had an entirely separate engine with different stats for the characters; Sonic, tails and Knuckles all have different running speeds in racing mode when they have the same speed in the main game.
I think in Speed Battle everyone has separate stats too.
Also on another note, did anyone ever hear about the weird interview where the developer said Eggman Nega was still from another dimension in Rivals? Here it is
.
- I have included SEGA’s response: “Although there may have been some differences in the story setting for both Sonic Rivals 1 and Sonic Rush, Eggman-Nega is same character. He comes from another dimension, and the reference of time was to place the mystery of the cards in context with the story. We really hadn’t effectively changed where Eggman-Nega comes from, just added another dimension if you like to the overall storyline.”
Personally I just ignore the whole thing.
... maybe? I hope so, but all we see in the trailer is gameplay from bosses or stages, so there might not be any cutscenes. And if there's not, they might also save as much money as they can by having the boss fights without any spoken dialogue - just grunts and stuff.

Appearently some people are conflicted with one of Flynn statements
Black Doom transforming into Devil Doom thanks to the Chaos Emeralds
They think it contradicts the game, where Doom never used them on-screen to transform
Personally, I'm inclined to agree with Flynn. If Doom had this powerful transformation all this time, why did he go out like a chump in all the other endings?
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. Also, even if it is a contradiction, if there's anyone in a position to retcon such a minor plot point its Ian Flynn.
I've never played Shadow, but are people really attached to the idea that Black Doom doesn't use the Chaos Emeralds for some reason?

@neoamon: Gotta check that video out myself. But it mentions Stay Sonic in the thumbnail and as it happens, we actually have apage on it. So we got a head start.
Are explosions science?Heard a remix of the boss theme from Sonic 3 and Knuckles in a Youtube video, and it made me realize how long its been since I've replayed Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
Then I remembered that the last time I did play it, I'd lost my touch at completing all the Special Stages and rage quit. Sonic 3 I got through its seven just fine. But something about & Knuckles just wasn't clicking that playthrough. Doesn't help that I've never bothered to remember the optimal route to get the Emeralds as early as possible and Knuckles, which I have in 3.
Oh baby, according to Johnny Gioeli (Crush 40 vocalist) in response to a query from Tails Channel
, Paramount did secure the rights to use Live and Learn in Movie 3.
That said, Crush 40 isn’t directly involved in the production of said film.
God I hope it does play during the battle and not just as a credits or opening theme.

I'm amazed the game looks as incredible as it does for a Saturn release, considering it was made in just over a year. Travelers Tales were fucking programming wizards in the 16 and 32 bit eras.
