And the thing about that is that at the end of the day, SEGA is the one making most of the decisions regarding the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. So if the fans really want to know about everything going on with the Sonic the Hedgehog brand, just ask SEGA or in the case of Sonic Prime, why not ask the creators of Sonic Prime what's going on with the show?

I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Fandoms nowadays are getting increasingly used to series and franchises having like, a single guy who is the lore and development master, can answer or field any questions about the development of the franchise, and is there to interface with fans in whatever questions.
Some franchises have people who specifically position themselves to do them, either because they're the big creator or showrunner of the franchise like Alex Hirsch or Kevin Feige, or because of the people running the show they're the most skilled at interfacing with fans like Frank Angones was with Ducktales.
Once Flynn became one of the bigger creative names in the whole Franchise, rather than being strictly attached the comics, fans have been clamoring to see him as that person for the Sonic franchise, but Flynn has only really done that sort of thing here and there and has maintained he can only do it to a point.
He has the Bumblekast (wherein he, to be honest, mostly just answers things in a "given what I know, it's my opinion that X or Y would happen" sort of way), but he's made it clear since Fontiers was in dev that he's only involved in the specific things he's involved in, doesn't have insight into what Sonic Team is thinking and doing, and isn't in charge of other adaptations.
Prime in particular has had a history of some people involved saying this or that, fans taking those comments to the complete extreme, and then assuming everyone else is on the same page as them. Flynn's been repeatedly asked to validate the fan interpretation of comments that even the people who actually made those comments have been fairly mum in elaborating on, and he's clearly not interested in that rabbit hole.
Did he specifically say "I know where it fits, and I'll tell you all later," or were people incessantly asking him about it a year ago too and did he just deflect with "I can't answer questions like that until the show is over?"
Because the latter seems more likely.

iirc: "I can't answer questions like that until the show is over", but he says it's due to the big spoiler of Season 3, making it clear he knew what was going to happen.
And even just saying that instead of "hey please stop asking me this I was only a consultant" upfront is a much better way of handling that pressure than going "I'll answer when the show's over".

A couple things to that:
He did know what was going to happen in the show itself, regarding the big twists and spoilers. He’s a consultant on the show.
When a show is running and the NDA is running, “I can’t answer these until the show is over”is the best answer. It’s better than “yes”, “no” or even “I don’t know,” because they’re questions you can’t field at all, period.
And he’s been saying “I’m don’t have the knowledge of how everything fits together in between series and media” for years. He didn’t start just now. He’s been having to tell people that at least since Frontiers was released.

I don't think that anyone knows everything about the Franchise. It would require playing all the games, watching all the cartoons, reading all the comics and books. Some of which were released only in certain countries. Such as the UK gamebooks, comics and novels including "Sonic the Hedgehog and the Silicon Warriors". The mangas released only in Japan including "Sonic the Hedgehog Story Comic" Manga (1991). Not to mention that some of the medias haven't been republished.

"May your heart be your guiding key"And the guy is constantly writing for Sonic, other licenced work and his own shit, and we know the amount of errors he made in that Encyclospeedia.
Guy is human and can't know everything.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. This all leads me to believe that they should hire more writers that can do something like Flynn can, so that he can finally get a break.
"That we continue to persist at all is a testament to our faith in one another."That's why spinoffs are a good idea. Let people dabble in smaller scale stuff, see what works and what doesn't, instead of exacerbating the game industry's modern boom or bust cycle. That was what made handhelds a neat thing, before the Switch made everything the same, but blurrier, devs had to try to do their own stuff on differing consoles.
I'm going to be real and be completely neutral about Toyoda.
Guy can work with established characters. Great.
Yet, what happens when you make him write complete new characters?
You get fucking Infinite.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.

Probably because the fandom sees him as, like, the Kevin Feige of Sonic the Hedgehog. Like, they think he's the guy that all Sonic canon now flows through.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
