Damn, the Tik Tok answers giving the feels.
Them casually dropping that Tails was homeless before he met Sonic, and Knuckles calling himself a lousy role model and saying there’s nothing positive about himself, yeesh.
Well, Tails being an orphan has always been implied. He doesn't have any parents mentioned anywhere in the games. But I didn't think he would have been homeless too.
We know Knuckles is an orphan too. Everyone else? A mystery.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Tails being homeless makes sense. He's never had any parents mentioned, as noted, but what has been mentioned is that he was also an outcast. Before he met Sonic, his two tails made him a target of scorn and derision among his society. He got bulled a lot.
So, doing the math? Orphan + Ostracized by society =/= Safely and contentedly housed. Tails had a pretty shitty life pre-Sonic.
Something that the Sonic Prime series touches on, in fact.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Him being homeless has always been a popular fan theory I think, but in the games our best answer to what his life was like back then was Tails’ Adventure, in which he lived alone in a shack in the woods all by himself.
Which isn’t much better for a four year old, but at least it was a house. Him just straight up having been homeless now is… oof. No wonder even Eggman gave him a hug.
(Speaking of, I’d really be down for a new Tails’ Adventure Sonic Team. Do it, ye cowards)

Yeah, but those are just graphical power ups, not necessarily connected to the characters. That future predicting mural on Angel Island also just happened to look like that, and that was more important.
Thanks for finding the compilation(s)!
Eggman being a Musk fan... Somehow that's both fitting and incredibly wrong at the same time.
Eggman contemplating making non-Badnik machines to fund his work is....
The FNAF reference with regard to filling a pizzeria with animatronics is obvious, but that bit also takes on an added bit of funny if you've played The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog.
(Which I still can't believe is not only a real thing that exists but is an official Sega product, not some edgy fan-game.)

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I mean, FNAF is the first thing that comes to mind, of course, but that series itself got the idea from somewhere. Chuck E.'s being potential nightmare fuel has been a thing at least since I was a kid, since there were Rugrats (and potentially Aah! Real Monsters) episodes centered on it. Chuck E. Cheese has inspired tropes within tropes.
Whenever I think of Eggman making commercial robots, I still think of the Guard Robos (Chaos Gamma clones) from Sonic Battle first.
I'm not surprised that someone would pitch Murder's name, I'm just more surprised production actually let it happen. Even though SEGA has always given the Sonic franchise leeway on April Fool's, that's a very lasting name to have.

I could see some of the Robotniks would open a restaurant as a cover for a Badnik processing plant. Having trapdoors below the restaurants seats that would drop people into the plant, which would turn the customers into organic batteries for Badniks or turn the characters into robots with the method Archie Robotnik used.

Hmm. We've had the occasional food zone, and we've had industrial production zones, but we've never had food production zones, have we?
Then again, there's only so much one can do without going into issues with both Furry Confusion and the horrors of the meat processing industry.
Actually, has there been a food themed zone besides Sweet Mountain?

There was Des(s)ert Ruins Zone Act 3 in the Wii U/PC version of Sonic Lost World. Granted, it's just a single Act rather than a full Zone (the rest of Desert Ruins Zone is exactly what it sounds like), but I think it's the only other Level Ate in the games.

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionaryDes(s)ert Ruins' entry on Level Ate is actually quite bad, to be honest. Could someone please update it to actually describe what the level is like? Is it just an out of nowhere theme change? All I know about Lost World is that the Zones and themes aren't always in a particular order or grouping.
It's an out of nowhere theme change and only exists because of the pun...
It doesn't aesthetically match with the rest of the Desert level, of course, and it's entirely 2D abstraction...simply being a void of sweets.

I gave it a shot. It should be changed now.
Thanks. Glad to help.

Your melody still remains in this room and it ringsI made a trope page for Sonic and the Death Cheese.
Thanks Bumblekast.
The Protomen enhanced my life.

Sonic The Comic has creatures called Apterix that take the role of livestock for people to eat. As well as fish, fruit and veg. Later on the comic introduces sentient fish and mutated veg.
Fan decompilations already beat Netflix to it, without strings attached might I add.
