I think a point of contention is just people flat-out disagreeing with this:
Even if that's the case, why is ![]()

apparently saying it's fine to keep mentioning 06 when Colors, Mania, Generations, or Frontiers is released, but not Dream Team?
Why keep bringing up 06 at all?
Back on Dream Team, I'm watching the previously linked video now.
- I kinda don't like that we have a damaging boost again after not having one in Frontiers. I'd like some consistency. Maybe that boost be faster than spin dash, but spin dash deals damage.
- Some object pop in at the very beginning of the first level was worrisome, but going into the second level it doesn't seem nearly as bad as Frontiers.
- I'm surprised Sonic didn't say more about starting another adventure being literally dropped into a dream world (Frontiers starts inside 1-1, not Kronos), separated from his friends, addressed by a disembodied female voice (followed shortly afterwards by a floating woman, though this time the same), who tells him to collect various items to restore his ethereal friends, starting with Amy. Though Sonic does say "this time" at one point.

Colors came out the same year as the atrocious Free Riders.
Mania came out the same year as the "Okay at best" Forces.
Generations had a 3ds port nobody talks about.
There are Three of the Sonic Boom games.
Sonic has consistently had as much bad to talk about as good for a long time come on now. It's not constructive to ignore the bad.
ANY-ways.
So the "This time" line proves it happens after Frontiers? I mean, the time scale is loose enough that they could fit like twelve as-yet seen adventures in between the two games anyway.
But considering the two games where probably in development in similar time frames there's no guarantee Ian Flynn knew which one would come out first.
I never said to ignore all the bad. Just that always going back to 06 is weird to me. 06 is almost 2 years closer to the start of the series than it is to now. There have been good and bad games since.
I was just asking when was the last time we had a solid stretch of overall good stuff like this. Someone else said the stretch might be a bit longer than I thought. 06 being bad isn't really relevant to when was the last time there was a really good stretch for the franchise, unless you're saying it ended that stretch.

I mean we still talk about the first game when it comes to talking about the good.
I only brought up 06 in reference to how bad newer game Rise of Lyric was in any case.
ANY-ways.
Oh god Rouge's voice is baaaaaad now I'm sorry.
Bits and pieces of character interaction are showing up to me on Tumblr and elsewhere. It's... All really good. And the animations are fantastic for a small game too.
I like how they say outright that combat's not the main focus and enemies are primarily used for momentum purposes. I'd rather have it like that outright instead of trying to both-ways it. There's still Boss Battles when you need an actual encounter, and Frontiers being more combat-focused than usual lets the two games balance each other.
Apparently there's gonna be post-launch support? Oh no, they're gonna gouge people for Shadow again.
I don't think Apple Arcade allows microtransactions... At least, I hope it doesn't.
My musician pageNever trust big corporations.
But that makes me unhappier because now they might be able to force Shadow into my game when he'd be the last character I would buy.
Yes there is.
Funnily enough, Blaze and Shadow are brought up as potential no-goes in the current state of Dream Team, since they require "more existential" threats according to the director, with Blaze needing to also be pulled from a completely separate dimension to justify her inclusion.

Ariem mentioned she had "creators". Maybe Illumina had a hand in creating her. If that were the case, that would then beg the question of who her other creators are...
Like Amy's birthday party.
They could just be "Dream Constructs" created by the scenario too.
But if Blaze and Shadow are off the table that's fine too. The Chaotix would fit right into the gameplay triangle they got going but I don't see why they would be here.
Actually, probably leaping to conclusions we'll get something as dramatic as playable characters. Could just be funny costumes or something.
You are not alone.Dreams should be able to bypass the dimension hurdle, to be honest.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Doesn't the Final Frontiers explain Sonic's experiences on the Starfall Islands are a combination of Memory World (Wait, really? That's not a trope? It should be) and Your Mind Makes It Real?
So the implication is, since Sonic enters a portal to get to the Fishing Ponds, they don't have the REAL Big, just Sonic's thoughts of him?
Apparently Sonic thinks of Big. Aww....
Sonic and Big don't have a whole lot of interaction but I imagine they get along famously. Big's a character that probably never makes any demands of Sonic in any capacity so Sonic probably catches a snooze near one of his fishing ponds every once in awhile. Then he runs off suddenly to save a town and returns, and Big wouldn't have even moved an inch.
You are not alone.
In fairness, I don't think Sonic ever really needs much convincing to rescue non-evil people or animals who are in danger, especially if Eggman's the one who put them in that situation to begin with. Big and Froggy were just as much strangers to Sonic when they met him aboard the Egg Carrier in Sonic Adventure, as Tails and the animals of South and Westside Islands were to him back in the first two games. He's just that kind of guy, you know?

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's Dictionary

TBH Rise of Lyric should be the one we're hanging over Sega's head now, but it (Justifiably) sold abysmally so people aren't as familiar with it.
But publishers should not be able to shit out horrifically playing games and see no consequence.
I don't know why you're doing this now when we have a good game we should be celebrating now though.
You are not alone.
