If you're trying to decide between wonder and superstars tbh it comes down to which you enjoy more, sonic or mario. And I guess whether you want to play with somebody or not.
I got both(and tbh I'd pick Frontiers over either of them personally) and both are worth getting if you're a fan of either franchise. I will say that Wonder is a lot easier than Superstars though.
I have both Wonder and Superstars and they essentially scratch different itches. The former has a very tight and polished level design that is joyous to go through the first time, but after I've 100% the stages, I don't really have much incentive for replaying any of them (though I might mess around with some badges as I've not used any non-mandatory ones in my playthrough yet).
The latter is rougher around the edges with its elements, yet the depth of level design and the actual gameplay differences between the characters incentivizes me to keep going back and experiencing them again. Superstars is very early to mid 90s in its sensibilities vis a vis replay value, and I'm able to enjoy it because of that.

Your point is not invalid, but Flynn has written Amy, Cream, and Rouge as a girl trio in the IDW comics, so there's precedent for it.
I'm a bit iffy on the Apple Arcade part, though. If anyone here has it, it's not possible to just buy an Apple Arcade game, right? Like, you'd have to wait for it to show up in other consoles and even that's a big "if"?

The response to the Apple Arcade exclusivity is a Tainted by the Preview entry in the making. Also, is it just me or does the mystery character look like Lumina Flowlight and/or Illumina?
UPDATE: According to this tweet
, the aforementioned mystery character is named Ariem. My guess is she's supposed to be Illumina Mk. II.

Rouge is my second favorite character (second to Tails), so that clip of her and Tails giving Sonic a lift made me explode in joy. The Rouge Renaissance is real!!
First the stealth "Year of Amy", and now Rouge keeps getting a bit of spotlight in a game style she hasn't been in in decades. What's next, Big going beyond a game-breaker minigame and having his own spinoff?
Now that I've played the video a second time, Tails using his feet to run looks weird. We know he can run that way, but to reach his top speeds he needs his tails.

I remember I grumbled a lot when Orcs Must Die! III was exclusive to Apple Arcade and I couldn't get it... It did eventually become purchaseable by me on console though.
It's in a weird limbo state where it's not a popular service but Apple keeps pumping money into it to try to attract people so people take Apple's check and give them a timed exclusive before moving on to greener pastures, basically.
You are not alone.I have an iPad... but it's ancient and I have doubts it'd be able to even run Dream Team.

You should compare it to Wonder in terms of time to complete though. They're direct competitors for a reason.
