Speaking of Infinite, anyone feel this doesn't fit.
- A Father to His Men: Heavily up to interpretation, but there's a slight possibility that his only redeemable aspect was that he cared about his Jackal Squad, being furious at Shadow after he took them all down. Though it's worth noting that any of that would be from before he became Infinite, and even then his fury towards his squad's deaths may have come from bruised pride rather than anything resembling grief.
I feel at most it'd be Pet the Dog or Even Evil Has Loved Ones.
The Ian Flynn comic didn't imply Infinite had a good relationship with his minions.
Also possibly Hot Take ahead, but I feel the only reason Mephiles is more well liked than Infinite, is because he is a hedgehog.

He's killed Sonic more times than Eggman has.
Mephiles has that going for him.
One Strip! One Strip!Regarding the Infinite and Cream poll, I feel like the former only really won that poll because Shadow does have more of a connection to Infinite than he does with Cream. Had it been Rouge, Sonic, or even Omega instead of Cream, I feel like Infinite may have lost that poll.
BTW, please call me Jake.RE: Handsome Rob
I feel Mephiles only succeeded there due to to the plot of 06 dumbing down everyone else.
I also love how Mephiles could've killed Sonic and obtained the Chaos Emeralds at any time, but went for an overly complex plot for no reason.
That's not what happens, Sonic didn't even have all the Chaos Emeralds on him when he died (I'm trying to remember if he had any at all, even that I'm not sure). Mephiles needed to get Elise to cry to get Iblis out of her (a dumb plot point, but not Mephiles' fault) and killing Sonic was the most efficient way to do that. And for the rest of the game Mephiles is focused on Shadow because he wants revenge, he only decides to go get Iblis and become whole again first when it becomes clear that he can't beat Shadow.
Actually, I guess there is the complicated bit of why Mephiles put Silver on Sonic's trail at all, though.

I think Mephiles wanted Silver to kill Sonic to cause Elise to cry.
Though when you think about it, he really should have taken Eggman out, since it was Elise's death in the crash of Eggman's ship without crying that caused Ibilis to rampage....maybe.
Listen. We've talked about how convoluted and overly complicated Mephiles plan was. I'm not gonna defend it.
I'm just gonna say, that in terms of the number of Sonic T. Hedgehogs killed, he's one up on everyone.
Cause he did it. He killed Sonic, and no one can take that away from him, even if it did get undone.
One Strip! One Strip!Mephiles could have wrecked things a lot easier by just cutting some onions.

RE: diddyknux
Its been a while, but couldn't Mephiles instantly teleport all the Chaos Emeralds to himself immediately, but didn't do that until the final story?
RE: Tomodachi
That reminds me of how edgy the Archie Sonic comics made the villains of Sonic, even Nack/Fang was a multiple murderer in them!
I've been slowly going through New Horizons. It feels very experimental. I really like that. I don't think everything they tried works, but I'm glad to see them trying.
Amy, Knuckles and Tails work well. Of the three, Knuckles needs the most ironing out, but none of them are unfun to play.
The Cyberspace levels are interesting. The only one I actively dislike so far is the one with the rev up boost and the giant speedometer that takes up a quarter of the screen. I haven't seen them all yet, however.
I wonder how come Sonic games have a rough time staying consistent on their gameplay. Like in one game, the gameplay runs smoothly, like Sonic Generations and then the next game, the gameplay runs terribly, like Sonic Lost World and Sonic Forces. Is it because SEGA rarely give the developers enough time to work on the games or is it because the developers constantly want to change the gameplay style in each game, instead of improving on the gameplay style they have? It seems like the other video game franchises are having an easier time with keeping their gameplays consistently good, but the Sonic franchise seems to struggle with this since the 1990s.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!All this talk on Infinite reminds me this iconic youtube quote:
Infinite is kind of an amazing villain by complete accident. He seems intimidating at first, talking big shit and doing crazy stuff, but at the end of the day he's just a massive pushover and most of his powers are mere illusions. He acts dark and brooding like he has a tragic backstory, but it's actually just him throwing a temper tantrum over losing a single fight. In their efforts to make a badass villain, the writers of Sonic Forces accidentally made a genius deconstruction of the kind of people who try to act badass in real life.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Isn't Infinite like a deconstruction of the Sadist and the Darker and Edgier character archetypes?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!No.
He's just another one and there's not enough actual focus on him to really get that.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.

Yep, he beat Cream out for a Shadow feature by the slightest of margins. Still mad about that. We need a recount.
