[up] x8: it's so funny when people think the parry float is indefinite, just goes to show how excessively egregious the 15 second timeframe is that there is no realistic scenario where someone can't do what they wanted to do with it in that timeframe.

Well yeah, not literally indefinite, but functionally. Especially given the speed Sonic players are used to reacting at.

Even 3 seconds might be too much, and I really don't like that it kills momentum, but I'm pretty sure it was intentional by the devs, and it's defiintely exploitable.

I kinda wish the story book series got a revival. The concept was cool, it just needed better gameplay. Imagine games in that series based off The Odyssey, or Journey to the West.

I agree. I'd have loved a story from many different parts of the world. Particularly the Global South.

[up]x2 That would be a great pay out to Silver is Trunks and Shadow is Diest Vegeta, have a storybook game based on Journey to the West in which Sonic becomes Son Wukong. Would love to see it happen.

Neither of those characters are based on or inspired by Dragon Ball's earlier connection to Journey to the West.

For the record, seconding the idea that Silver should get stuck in the past. Saving his future, he has to remove himself from it, and then he ends up as a Fish out of Temporal Water.

Rather than the guy time traveling just because every now and then.

Like, you could just say that that after Silver alters the future, it's a new timeline, with a new Silver living happily in it. So he couldn't go back, not really.

Sega President Yukio Sugino sure likes talking about reboots and remakes, doesn't he?

Especially for Sonic, it seems:

While the interviewer referred to Party Central as a reboot of the original Samba de Amigo, Sugino corrected him, saying it "is not a reboot in my mind, but a new game in the series." Sugino then immediately went to talking about Sonic Superstars, which has no firm release date but is planned for later this year, citing it as "a return to 2D action, and although it is a new game, I would like to implement reboot-like measures as well."

Continuing that train of thought, he went on to infer that Sega takes the idea of "reboots and remakes" into account when setting the course for its intellectual properties-although again, he singled out Sonic as the prime example. "Of course, we have to do new things, but as with all IPs, we don't have new works or reboots," he explained. "We will develop while selecting which is appropriate at this timing for each IP, such as 'This is the best way to do this IP'. 'Sonic' is also SEGA's signature IP, and in parallel with the new game, we are considering reboots and remakes."

On a somewhat related note, apparently a really screwy rumor somehow suggests that Sega might be announcing a remaster of sorts to Sonic Heroes at Gamescom because a glitched screenshot of it appeared in the TailsTube segment of the most recent Sonic Central.

...I'm rather skeptical. And besides, in the context, they probably mean more like revivals of gameplay beats rather than legit full-fledged remakes. Like, how some speculate that Sonic Frontiers's third free update will be a preclude to a Sonic Adventure 3 maybe.

I'm just hoping for remakes of all the Dimps games, preferably with Dimps involved to make them better than they were, too.

Acting like they're not gonna remake the Adventure games first and foremost.

In the case of an Adventure remake, do you think they will rewrite it?

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.

They don't need to rewrite anything, a few extra scenes for clarity would be nice however.

Adventure 1 is pretty solid.

Adventure 2 does require the player to fill in a lot of the gaps themselves however due to vague implication.

Not unless they want a violent mob outside their buildings the next day.

Sonic Adventure and its sequel have Sacred Cow status within the fandom. Alter them in a way that changes the original and you'll see a shit storm that will make the 06 fallout look tame by comparison.

I'm honestly concerned about SEGA remaking some Sonic games. We saw what happened with Sonic Origins and I don't know if SEGA is capable of making good remakes at the moment.

Why is everyone assuming only the Modern titles are getting remade or rebooted? After Origins and with Superstars coming out, I'd assume they're just looking at what other Classic title they can reinvigorate besides yet another port.

What other Classic title could they remake or port that wouldn't be redundant at the moment? Origins Plus already covers most of them. The only things left are Knuckles' Chaotix, SegaSonic, 3D Blast, Sonic R, and Sonic the Fighters.

Sega Sonic would be a sick arcade style high score based game.

It's literally just a game about escaping Eggman's gigantic base, you could expand on that and make it some kind of multiplayer battle game game.

Sonic R would also be nice, just need to design more than 5 tracks.

They should remake the Adventure games, and add an annoying human sidekick to the story that contributes nothing except replacing other characters in some cutscenes.
